ELDERLY PEOPLE

No singles/widows over age 75 years old without a family member being there

No married people both over the age of 80 years old without a family member being there

DO NOT SCHEDULE WITH ELDERLY PEOPLE OVER THE AGE OF 90!!! IF THEY ARE 90+ THE APPOINTMENT NEEDS TO BE SCHEDULED WITH A FAMILY MEMBER THAT HELPS THEM WITH THEIR AFFAIRS

RED FLAGS:

If customer says they've owned their home for 30+ years ASK HOW OLD THEY ARE

If the h.o sounds shaky, elderly, or out of it (example: Client states something random or crazy sounding like, "Are we going to go to Costco for the pigtail light bulbs too?") ASK HOW OLD THEY ARE

If the h.o starts switching their answers throughout the call (example: Client states something like, "I'm 62 years old...." then later on in the conversation states "I'm 72 years old....") ASK HOW OLD THEY ARE

EXAMPLES TO HANDLE THE ELDERLY

Handling 30+ years owning the home:

1st. Get their age: "Wow, that's amazing! You must have been born in the house. If you don't mind me asking, how young are you?"
(If they are single or widowed and answer 75 years old or younger, then that's fine as long as they sound coherent) (If the married customer says 80+ y/o then we NEED a family member present under the age of 75 years old)

2nd. Get family member there: You can approach getting a family member to be there by saying:
"Wow, I would have never guessed that, you sound amazing. Now I know when my mom got a solar consultation, I made it very clear to have me there as well, since I am sure you understand 4 ears are better than 2, I was wondering...Do you have a son or daughter that you would like to be there for the solar consultation with you as well? "
9 times out of 10 they will say something like , " Oh yea, my son John takes care of things and helps me with stuff all the time .. . . ." That's when you need to find out if the person you are talking to can schedule the appointment for everyone, needs to talk to their family to find out when they will be available, or if you need to talk to their family member that "HANDLES THINGS" to schedule this appointment.
Use common sense and ethical judgment and you should be fine.
