Depression is like a war

Not with the world

But the thoughts in your brain

Its having to explain

Everything over and over again

Why you cant get out of bed

Or why you mutter to yourself

Its the scars on your wrist

The headaches

And the cries to your pillow

Sometimes people don't hear it

Or maybe they don't care

But this whole issue

As much as people deny

Its a war

Pouring on the innocent

And killing the weak

Cause most of the time

The ones who give up

Have seen the most pain

Felt the weight of the world

And carried their baggage everywhere

So don't forget

Everyone's fighting a battle

And it might just be the start of yours

As they end theirs.
