It started at birth

The rules and regulations that spoke the truths she must live

We're cast upon her from the time she began to cry that summer day

As shes been told she watched her mother's perfect version of life fade away

Problems and shouts replaced the sweet calm laughs she used to make

A self image of greatness slipped through her fingers

It started with a whisper

From the girls at school who made her feel less than

To the guys acting like she had no heart

She felt everything

She still does

She feels when the room goes quiet like it's the first snow fall of the year

She sees pain on people faces where it only shows from there eyes all the fear they hide

She's broken

Been struck and brought up to have a heart made of stone

So that in the chance they see you break and chip you away your never exposed

She's been shown the world through everyone's eyes

All the power you see is her disguse

To hide her from the ones who made her start to plead to lose her life

From the snarky comments to the pins and bobbins

She wasn't ever considered perfect

She wears black to mask the way her heart beats on her sleeve

To hide the soul she buries deep

Her make up is a mask she wears so we'll people wouldn't know she just cried

Or that she just spent an hour panicking about a boy who never did anything but take her flowers

He made her feel whole in a broken sort of way

Like everything would be okay if they didn't break up that day

That if he stayed she did right

Cause staying that whole time means he loved her right?

Till the Rose colored glasses fell

And the cheater was caught 6 times in a row

3 weren't even known of

She cried again

As she held on for dear life

Cause this broken girl can't find a home not in her life

No place to go and feel safe

Always on alert

Always play it safe

Don't let it show

The emotion inside

And honestly I dare you to ever speak your mind

It's safe in the now to know what I do

To act like it really never bugged you

So whisper your lies like you always did

And tell me sweet things I wanna get wrapped up in

I'm sorry to say

This girl isn't quite okay

She's broken bruised and hurt

Beaten down in the dirt

So as she climbs up to escape

Don't expect someone you would call sane

She melted back deep into dust

She's changed and soulless she left that in the earth

Becareful she's tired of bullshit and all of the lies

Maybe if the people she loved cared

She wouldn't have to be a heart beyond repair
