"What the hell were you thinking?" Dally asked and looked at me shocked when I walked away.
"What? I can take her!" I defended myself. Johnny just snorted.
"It ain't her I'm worried about. Her brothers will kill anyone who lays a hand on her. You don't mess with Shepherds." Johnny said and laid a hand on my shoulder. He was always so comforting.
"Well, good luck getting Tim and Curly fucking Shepherd to listen to you. Man, if anything happens to you, I swear." Dally huffed and continued to strut down the sidewalk, Johnny and me in toll. It was dark out, something I had always feared but never told anyone.
"I'll be fine, Romeo." I joked.
Dally smirked and his cheeks held a small tint of pink. I laughed and we continued walking until a larger mustang rolled up beside us. Johnny hustled closer to me and Dally laughed as a group of 7 boys tumbled out, stumbling around.
I tensed up but showed no fear, as usual.
"Hey grease heads!" A curly haired blonde said.
"Get outta here, Hill." Dally took a drag of his cigarette before stomping it to the ground.
Before you could count to three, they had Johnny pinned to the ground and three boys on Dally, holding him down. They grabbed me and touched all over, putting a switchblade to my neck and pressing hard.
I looked over to make sure Johnny wasn't hurt, nor Dally. They appeared to be okay, well, okay as we could be right now.
"You care about her, eh?" The Soc asked Johnny. I was hoping he said no so they wouldn't do anything, I could see right through what they were saying. But, he nodded yes and Dally sighed.
I glanced to him and he gave a small smile of sympathy.
"How about you, Winston?" Another on asked Winston. I had two boys pinning me down, as 'Hill' was holding the lade to my neck.
"I think we should introduce this new girl to how Socs handle Greaser girls. But, nobody has to get hurt if come with us, darlin'." Hill said and rubbed my head.
I didn't stay anything, but just glared at them.
"Don't touch her, just get us and let's get this over with." Dally huffed. I could see his eyes become glossy as the Socs laughed.
"Thanks for showing us you care about someone, Winston. Now we got a target for all those times you've slashed our tires or whatnot." Another Soc said. He had curly, brown hair.
"We might as well start now!" Hill exclaimed, sliding the brutal knife across my neck, to make a small slit that immediately bled.
I never, ever cry. But right then, I shut my eyes so tight that a tear slipped. I opened them when I was sure I could, Dally was so furious he had escaped their grasp and grabbed his switchblade, taunting them before they ran off.
I couldn't move, I was in shock. Johnny crawled over to me and examined my cut, "I could've stopped it."
He continued muttering as Dally cussed out the Socs when they sped off.
"Johnnycakes, we were outnumbered by two to one. They were just messing, it's okay." I smiled and sat up, wiping the blood off my white t-shirt.
Dally came over and motioned Johnny away and picked me up slowly.
"I-I'm sorry, Juliet." He said and I laughed a little.
I leaned my head against his warm chest and smiled a little. His scent would always be a homey one to me. It was clean, surprisingly, like fresh laundry and a forest. Johnny too, he smelled of vanilla.
Johnny walked along side of us and Dally refused to put me down, but I flashed Johnny a few smiles when we'd make eye contact. What I really like is that this gang needs each other as much as they need the gang, if that makes sense.
My neck had stopped bleeding and we arrived at the Curtis house after 15 minutes, I was surprised Dally's arms hadn't given out. I'm not heavy or light, but he was really strong so it makes up for it.
We headed in and were stormed with questions, but it was okay considering they all felt sympathy and hugged me.
