"Why are you staring at this damn book? It's been like 15 minutes. You're not eating??"

Taehyung put his red notebook down and pursed his lip, slightly biting the lower one out of habit while apologizing faintly.

He looked away as he put the notebook aside and started eating his eggs. "It's not a book, though. It's a notebook someone had lost. I just don't know how to find them." His eyes yet again drifted away towards the blemished window of the diner.

Ha-Eun sighed, "looks like it's not just a someone, hmph?"

He turned back to her, his chin now not resting on his palm anymore. "What do you mean?" He gave her a questioning look.

Ha-Eun only shifted her gaze playfully, not answering his question as she giddily smiled. She felt how her best friend was slowly crushing on an unknown girl. Or was it even a girl? She didn't know.

"It's a girl, Ha-Eun." Her eyebrows rose as she looked back at him in shock. "How did you.."

He sighed. "Eight years and you still wonder how I read your mind, Eun??"

She gave his shoulder a small push as she laughed at him, "then you are having a crush on someone, aren't you??"

She enjoyed the sight of him shying at the question as a slight shade of pink dusted his cheeks.

"EEEEKKK THAT'S SO CUTE!!"

Taehyung immediately covered her mouth as people started staring at them. He looked around and awkwardly laughed at an old bothered couple sitting close to them. He then removed his hand away and sighed at her. "Please don't do that again, Milky."

Milky.

It had been so long since she heard that name. It always brought her back to an unwanted memory. It wasn't as bad as other memories. In fact, it was the one that brought them together and made them great friends. But she had also gained a now-lost enemy.

He glared at her.

And lunged.

Ha-Eun was expecting the painful crash, shutting her eyes tightly as she awaited it. But it hadn't even come. She let out a gasp as she slowly opened her eyes to see the younger boy being shoved away by the older.

He kicked him in the stomach, the younger groaning as he held on hard to it.

The older looked down at him. "Don't you dare come closer to her. You shouldn't hurt the innocent and abuse them cruelly like that." He then looked at the frightened girl and held her hand. "Come on," he said before leading her away. She still couldn't comprehend what was happening. But as soon as they were far enough from the school, he left her hand.

"Hope he never hurts you again, though I doubt he'll leave you after what I've done."

"Tha-thank you," she uttered lowly.

He smiled down at her, "it's okay. Anyone would've done the same thing, you know."

Ha-Eun pursed her lips tightly as she looked away, tears already forming. "Trust me, no one would. No one would help the daughter of a freak who doesn't even know her father."

"What? Don't say that, milky. Why would you say such a thing??"

She stared at him in shock. "Wa-Why did you call me milky?"

He realized what he said just then. And he blushed. "Well, its because... you're um, really white and your skin is, err. Forget it. I won't say it again."

Ha-Eun, for the first time in so long, really laughed. And it had made the boy smile. "I actually like it. But I have a name. It's Ha-Eun. And you?"

He gave her a sweet square smile as he answered softly with his deep voice, "Kim Taehyung."

They had become close friends afterwards. But the other boy had done his fare share of making Ha-Eun miserable, too. It left another scar on her wounded past.

"I'm... I'm sorry. It's been so long since I've called you milky. Sorry," Taehyung said once he saw how her gaze went far away into the nothingness of her thoughts. She looked back at him, barely able to focus on her surroundings as she hummed an 'it's okay, don't worry'.

He knew it wasn't okay. But what could he do? She had a therapist now who was probably better than him in solving these stuff. He only let it slide as he continued eating his breakfast in this new diner he wanted to try. It wasn't that bad, after all. Still, it needed some cleaning.

"Oh, come on. I'm not asking for much. Just take the money from table four and then serve table twelve. Pleeeease~"

He finally sighed in defeat at his Colleague and said, "fine. But you own me a dinner tonight."

"Ahaha, okay. Thanks," he said before leaving the guy to do his job.

Jungkook went on to take the money from table four's bill. Once he reached there he found a girl who put the money in the bill wallet. She then grabbed her bag and was about to leave with her seemingly boyfriend. But she handed Jungkook the bill first.

"Thank you, miss," he said as he took the bill. But the girl's hand froze as her grip was tightly holding the bill. He looked up at her in question, wondering what was wrong with her, when he gasped.

It was that same girl he had known years ago.
