And Yet The Lights Go Out

Kagura and Shinpachi finally broke away from the mob of angry men, for just a moment, and managed to lock themselves safely in a dark room— the only dim lighting coming from 30 or-so monitors aligned on the back wall. Kagura locked the door and then busted the lock, so that keys would no longer work on it.

"Phew," Kagura sighed, still able to hear the roaring of the mob of guards outside the room.

"Is Taro alright?" Shinpachi worried.

"I'm fine," the little boy put simply, still a bit rattled none the less.

Kagura gently slid him down her back and he planted his feet onto the ground. She then took a look at the monitors, wondering what they were for, exactly.

"Taro," Shinpachi neared the boy and outstretched his hand to him "just because we got away from them, doesn't mean you can leave me or Kagura-chan's side yet. Hold on to my hand, please".

Taro did as instructed, firmly grasping the side of Shinpachi's palm while his hand engulfed Taros completely.

"Security cameras," Kagura figured out "these monitors are getting footage of some the rooms in this place!"

"Really?" Shinpachi's eyes gleamed "Maybe we can search for a way out, and even locate Y/N-chan and Gin-san as well".

While Shinpachi and Kagura became a little more hopeful on escaping, the noise outside the door kept getting louder and louder. The guards continued screaming and slamming on the door to try and force their way in.

"I don't think we have much time in here though...," Shinpachi worried.

Kagura continued grazing her eyes over every inch of the screens, but had no luck finding you and/or Gin.

"Why are some of these monitors off?" Kagura frustratedly figited with random dials on the control panel in front of her.

"Be careful, Kagura-chan!" Shinpachi warned "You don't know what any of those-"

Despite Shinpachi's worry, one of the buttons Kagura pressed did make a monitor turn on, cutting off his call of warning. The monitor that lit up displayed a hallway lined with cell-like bar doors.

"Is that a dungeon?" Shinpachi's eyes widened.

"Kinky," Kagura raised a sultry eyebrow and nodded rhythmically.

With a gasp, Shinpachi covered Taro's young ears, glaring at Kagura in the process.

Kagura began flipping switches around the button that actually did something, and, sure enough, all the cell doors on the screen remotely slid open.

"Kagura, stop!" Shinpachi freaked over her shoulder "You don't know what you're doing!"

Before Kagura could reply, all three of them saw you walk out of one of the cells and across to one diagonally from it.

"Y/N!" Shinpachi and Kagura gasped in unison.

"Mommy?" Taro smiled in hope and disbelief, his little heart began beating excitedly.

Moments after, they saw you leave the other cell, dragging a drag adorning Gin who laid his arm limply over your shoulder, until you walked forward out of the camera's sight.

"And you doubted me!" Kagura smirked at Shinpachi.

"Okay, I'm sorry. Now lets get out of here and help, something is wrong with Gin!" Shinpachi redirected the conversation "Not to mention they were locked up. Kidnapping a kid, then imprisoning his parents; we're not out of the woods yet".

Shinpachi and Kagura were so engrossed with their findings, they had failed to notice that the chatter right outside the door had ceased. Suddenly, the metal door crashed open, busting it from its hinges, which caused it to be thrown, skidding across the floor, until it hit the expensive monitor equipment, setting off a surprising spark of metal and wires, to which the door then forcefully rattled to a complete stop. Shinpachi, luckily, was able to quickly remove Taro from being struck by the flying door, while Kagura leaped out of its way in fright.

A large, burly man, stood in the now open doorway, wiping dust from his exposed shoulder before bringing his shirt sleeve back down his arm. Like a swarm insects, the averaged sized guards came piling through around him, advancing and overcoming Kagura, Shinpachi, and even Taro, pinning down all three of them in an instant.

"Take them to the boss," the big guard directed "they'll be useful for his plan for the Princess and her pet".

"What's wrong with you assholes? Let Tito go!" Kagura flailed, all while being restrained by six grown men.

Two guards took hold of Shinpachi who urgently tired looking to see if Taro was indeed okay.

"No! Please!" Taro resisted in the guard's arms that held him tightly from escaping.

"Here," the big man strode to Taro's restrainer "he'll be less of a problem with this minor numbing agent, but this is all I've got left".

The whites of Shinpachi's eyes were as visible as ever when he watched the horrible man inject little Taro with a syringe filled with this mysterious, purple liquid.

"Stop! What are you doing to him?" Shinpachi struggled to get away, but he was forcibly stopped with a blunt thwack to the head.

"Ruslan-sama," a man called out to the large guard "we're having a problem with the girl: She's just too strong!"

Just then, the tattletale guard got kicked right in the nose with the heel of Kagura's unpredictable foot.

"Don't mess with the Yato Clan!" she cried out while her assault victim shouted obscenities in pain, trying to stop the incessant bleeding from his face.

"That's too bad because I don't have any form of the Juice left!" the man named Ruslan snarled "Just hold her tight, and make sure she doesn't get away until we get to the chamber".

Kagura then swiftly turned her head, biting a chunk of another guards ear off, and spitting the piece out onto the floor like old gum.

"Ahh!" he shouted in agony.

"Move it, you bastards!" Ruslan boomed "the boss is waiting!"

"Sir yes sir!" they all chanted in unison, like a pack of trained dogs, before making their way with their new captives out the security room entrance, and then heading their way to the infamous chamber.
