Gintoki held Taro close to his chest, too stressed to think about how tired his arms were getting. It also didn't help that a scratchy, burlap bag was draped over his head, so he couldn't see where he was walking. He was only guided by the constant prodding in his back from the armed guard jabbing the barrel of his gun into his shoulder blade to make Gin keep moving.
Soon, after what Gin felt was an elevator ride, the guard made him stop, and removed his blindfold for him. The sudden light exposure caught Gin off guard, but so did the familiar gray, brick wall that was standing in front of him.
"Hold on-" Gin's memory came flooding in, and suddenly he knew where he remembered that wall from
Before Gin could turn around and fight, he heard a loud metal clang behind him. He glared back and saw that iron bars now separated both him and Taro from the guard who lead them there.
"What the hell!?" Gin shouted "What about the deal!? Y/N agreed to her arrangement only if we were set free!"
The guard shrugged "Sorry Samurai, I don't make the rules".
Taken aback by the guard's relaxed attitude, Gin couldn't think of any intimidating words to shout at him.
"Someone will be back as soon as the kid wakes up, but I dunno what's going to happen after that," Chill Guard then sauntered back where he came.
"Hey, no! You can't just say that and leave!" Gin squished his face in-between the bars and yelled after him, but it was all for not, for that clam guard was not looking back before the elevator doors closed with him inside.
Hopelessness swept over Gin's body, and he couldn't help feeling so stupid about how gullible he had been.
"I'm such an idiot," he painfully sighed "these people are not trustworthy whatsoever! How did I just let this happen?"
A small, sleepy groan made its way out of Taro's mouth, and tickled Gins ears by surprise. He looked down at the sleeping boy, and a sudden realization struck him:
I'm holding my son.
Gintoki felt a wave of tingles go throughout his body, making his heart feel light in his chest. All the while, his eyes started to become slightly juicy.
"I'm a father," he convinced himself as he took a seat on the floor and admired the boy's face.
He noted the stark, white hair that looked just like his own, but he also noticed his face shape and detailing of his nose that reminded him so much of you. Yet, despite his joy, he couldn't help but feel guilty about only just meeting Taro that day; he wished he could have been with him since day one. Gently, Gin rests his forehead atop of Taro's fluffy, white hair.
"At least I'll be here for you from here on out, Little Buddy," Gin mumbles sweetly, feeling like he too, was going to fall into a blissful slumber "I'm gonna get you and your mom out of this place...".
---
It had only been about twenty minutes when Gin realized he had fallen asleep, and what woke him up was with a loud clanging sound from cell a door being shut- a familiar sound to him indeed. Also the sound of a young, familiar male voice shouting in protest.
