Gintoki quickly steps down the stairs right outside the Odd Jobs building, noticing the sound of panicked feet trailing behind him.
Gin glanced over his shoulder to Shinpach and Kagura and yelled "Stay there, I've got it from here".
Kagura shrugs and then strides back inside, but Shinpachi leans over the railing, looking at the albino Samurai searching for you down the street.
"But you're the one who made her run in the first place!" Shinpachi remarked, yelling back after him.
Gin didn't listen, for he had his cognition set on going after you.

Through the streets of Edo, Gintoki chased you, weaving around and in between pedestrians. He ended up nearly losing sight of you, but luckily, he noticed you make a sharp right turn into a random ally. With haste, Gin veered to the side of the street, then cautiously approached where he saw you enter.
You sat, holding your knees close to yourself, hiding your face. You made no sound, and all you did was shiver. Without a word, Gin just stared and pitied your broken down state. He remained unsure of himself being near you— not positive if it would help or not— all he knew was that doing nothing at all definitely wouldn't help in the slightest.
With carful steps, Gintoki decided to approach you, going to the side of you that wasn't nearly leaning on a trash can, and took a seat, crossing his legs like a pretzel.
"Why? Why does it have to be like this?" you sobbed into your knees.
Gin wanted to put a hand on your shoulder for comfort, but he restrained himself because of how you reacted from his caring touch just moments earlier.
"I can never escape the things I've been through, no matter how hard I try," you picked up your head, revealing your red, puffy eyelids. You sniffled, trying to hold back the tears.
Gin shakes his head "I have no idea what you're talking about, but whatever it is, it is connected to your son- Taro, somehow?"
You nod, looking forward at the plain, wooden wall in front of you.
"Also, about Taro," Gin segways "h-he's mine, isn't he?"
Your composure did not change. You were still in distress, but not more so than before Gintoki asked you that question. All you did was turn your head and locked your eyes with the Samurai, not faltering in the slightest.
"Yes."
Gin rubbed his face and eyes with both his hands and sighed "And you think he might be in a bad place, is that right? A place from your past?"
You wanted to verbally confirm, but you kept your mouth closed, for you feared that the sound that would have left your lips would be one of sorrow. Instead you nodded your head, then put your head back in its hiding place, holding your breath.
Gin noticed the physical strain you were forcing on your self, and jumped into action "Hey, don't hold it in! Just breathe, in and out, come on".
You willingly did as instructed, not even noticing that Gin had placed a hand on your back and started to rub in a circular motion, relaxing you.
