Hard Feelings

Waking up the next morning Leo went to check up on the group in the lair's "living room". Looking around he saw that they was all in the same position they were in last night except Harlee wasn't there. He felt a slight panic at the sight of the missing girl, looking around the lair some, before he heard talking coming from the dojo.

Taking a peak as to who was there he saw Master Splinter and Harlee. She seemed to be crying in a fit of rage while Master Splinter sat there comforting her. Taking a quick glance at Leo and nodding his head, Leo seemingly understood what he had meant.

Keep everyone else out until Harlee was okay, or at the least finished.

The blue masked Turtle couldn't help but feel bad. He didn't know the reason why she was crying, maybe it was their fault, or she could've been mad at the whole situation in general. Remembering how she did seem a little more aggressive last night after she was done talking to Raph. Leo shook his head and went to his room to meditate.

Everyone was woken up and had done ate, Keirsten only wanting some black coffee, which they respectfully complained was rather weak and tasted like water, was still seated at the table, tired and disoriented.

Harlee was silent as ever, her friends knew this was sign that she was upset. Over what they don't know, and they figured she wouldn't tell until the whole storm had blown over.

Master Splinter was standing at the doorway of the dojo, observing. His boys were seated around the couch, glancing at one another and trying to talk to the people they let in, before realizing that the only ones who would talk are Jessica and Alyssa. Harlee completely ignored them or responded in hateful comments and Keirsten only grunted and asked for their third cup, seeming to like it even though they thought it tasted really weak.

Splinter cleared his throat, the very action causing all attention to be on him, even Harlee who was pissed at the moment.

"You girls seem to all have powers, and I am curious as to what they are. One of you still has not found out about yours yet, based on what Donatello told me about his observations," Keirsten blinked. "I would like to see how you all would do in battle, and maybe it will be what unlocks Keirsten's powers."

Keirsten grunted, before taking a long sip of their coffee, which finishes it off, and got up. Harlee seemed more upset and got up anyway, along with Alyssa and Jessica. The boys, too, followed their father figure into the dojo and sat down next to the girls and Keirsten.

"You boys will each start fighting, to give the girls an example to go by." Master Splinter said.

"Uh Master Splinter sir? Will we be fighting them or each other?" Keirsten asked nervously.

"Excellent question Keirsten, to keep you all in your comfort zone for now, you and the girls will be fighting each other." He replied.

"Wait how do you know our names-" - Jessica

"I don't have a comfort zone, I barely leave my room! How am I supposed to go up against three basketball players and actual ninjas?!" Seems Keirsten has the short end of the stick with this one chief. Splinter looked amused, and a tad bit unconcerned.

"You will learn in due time. I have a lot of faith in your potential."

Keirsten sat silently and thought about Splinters words of wisdom for a bit. Splinter continued.

"Now then, boys give them an example to go by. Raphael and Donatello against Leonardo and Michelangelo. No weapons."

The turtles looked at each other and obeyed their Sensei, getting into their assigned groups and facing each other from across the room.

"You will begin now"

They were off. Raph took Leo and Donnie took Mikey. Raph threw a punch only for Leo to dodge and kick, but Raph grabbed his foot and twisted it sending him to the ground with a thud. Leo was down for only a second before he jumped with a flip and took down his brother, who was pissed at this point. Harlee was rooting for "the red one" rather loudly.

On the other side Mikey was doing backflips and avoiding all of Donnie's calculated moves. It was actually quite impressive. Jessica  watched and cheered on the turtle in orange, and Mikey ate it up.

When Splinter decided they were done (Winners: Mikey and Leo's team) he had the boys take the place of the girls and Keirsten and made up teams of two for them as well.

"Harlee and Alyssa against Keirsten and Jessica."

Harlee stood there in a sort of limbo just staring off at the floor.

"Begin"

Keirsten panicked and looked at Alyssa who shrugged and awkwardly walked over and threw an awkward punch. It was weak and hilarious and Keirsten let out a "pffft"

Keirsten went to put their hand on Alyssa's shoulder, but a huge gust of wind came out of nowhere and blew her right by Harlee.

Alyssa landed on the floor facing the ceiling.

Harlee lifted her head up looking confused, "Huh?"

Donnie was observing and Splinter went over to check and make sure Keirsten hadn't fuckin killed their best friend.

A few minutes later and the training session was over and everyone was free to leave. Keirsten felt terrible and this whole training session was a bust to them. Frick powers and responsibilities, Keirsten wanted coffee. So to fuel their addiction, they went to get a cup.

Harlee had pulled splinter aside against rot vent.

And Splinter listened to every word.

He was reminded of his red clad son, Raphael, by this stranger who seemed to share a lot of qualities with him. Speaking of which, she seemed to be in tears again. He knew she was overwhelmed with everything, let alone everything she told him this morning.

"Harlee, I know you are frustrated. It is normal to feel this way about breakups and such, but do not let yourself feel bad longer than you need to be. I know it will hurt and it will take time, but you are young. You have got plenty of that. You have been handling it as best as you can for a long time and I am proud of you."

Harlee sniffled. She'd had such a bad day, it was nice to hear affirmations. She'd barely known splinter for a day and now she just wanted to spill her heart out to him. She didn't, and pulled herself under control. Long enough hiccup and stand.

"Thanks Splinter. It means a lot." Harlee wiped her eyes with her palm her chest shook with another hiccup.

He watched her leave and with a last glance of worry and closed his eyes.

Not 5 minutes later he felt a presence in the room with him and heard the door shut.

"Keirsten? Do you wish to talk?"

"Yeah. Kinda."
