The Misfit Safe House(The Hunger Games)

Chapter 8

A/N Okay so in the middle of this chapter I skip ahead a few weeks.

<Johanna's POV>

I grin and run out of Gales house. I have to tell the misfits. I start a group message on my phone. Before I send anything I get in my car and start driving. I stop at a gas station so I can type.

I tell everyone to meet me in Katniss and I's dorm. They all reply so quickly you would of thought that they were waiting for the text. They all can make it.

I pull out of the gas station and drive so fast back to the college. When I walk through the entrance I practically sprint to the elevator and to our dorm. Everyone else is already there.

I sit on my bed and start talking. "I have big news!" I say happily.

"Well don't just sit there, spit it out!" Cato tells me. I grin.

"I have one big thing left from Thresh well actually it's small in the beginning," I say trailing off.

"Just tell us!" Marvel yells.

"This baby is Thresh's!" I shout pointing at my stomach. Everybody's faces light up. Katniss's eyes water and tears threaten to fall.

"Congratulations!" Annie says grinning profusely. I say a thank you and except several more congrats.

"We get to have another piece of Thresh to always have with us, and we get to raise him as a family." When I say the word family it really hits me that it will be okay.

"He or she will always have our support and to will it's mother," Clove says.

<Cato's POV>

I can't believe that the baby is Thresh's. Excitement rushes through me when I think of taking care of Thresh's baby. That baby is the last thing he gave to this world and I couldn't be happier.

"How about we all go to Piano Tune." Marvel suggests.

"I'm all for it," Glimmer announces.

"Well then what are we waiting for? Let's move!" Finnick shouts. We all whoop and burst out of Jo's door like animals. We whoop all down the hallways and all the way to our cars.

When we make it to Piano Tune it is jam packed. Probably cause it's a weekend. We make our way into the restaurant and match to the back.

We sit down and are ready to order. The waitress comes over and we bombard her with out orders. I can't help but laugh at our behavior. When she finally gets our order right she walks away and we start to ask Jo questions. I start.

"So how do you know the baby isn't Gale's?"

"I went over to his house to tell him about the baby and then he told me we used a condom and that's it," Jo says plainly. I spot something coming out from under her sleeve.

"Jo what's on your arm?" I ask curiously.

"Oh um I got a tattoo. It um says one of the things Thresh used to say you know when he said 'family is your purpose'" she answers her eyes teary.

I recognize the quote immediately. When our food arrives we eat and talk. I love our group of misfits. And soon we will have a little addition.

<Johanna's POV>

14 weeks later.

Today is the day of my second appointment for the baby. I am definitely starting to show. There is a little bump where my hard toned abs used to be. I put on a light gray tank top and a black thin flowy long sleeve shirt. It is winter now and very cold outside. I then slip on a pair of ripped faded jeans and combat boots. I throw on a black beanie grab my phone and head out the door.

When I exit the building cold winter air hits me. I shiver. I quickly get in my car and drive to the hospital.

When I get there I check in and sit in the waiting room for about ten minutes before I am called to my room. I am so excited to find out the gender of Thresh and I's baby.

"Hello Johanna! How are you feeling?" Doctor Ophelia asks me.

"I'm good for the exception of morning sickness," I say remembering Kat holding back my hair at 5:00 while I puked my brains out. She smiles.

"Ahh I see. That's normal. Nothing to worry about, okay so please pull up your shirt," she tells me. I do as I'm told. "So before we begin, do you want to know the gender of the baby today?"

I think about it one last time and then nod to her. "Okay then let's get started." She put the cold gel on my belly and then rubs it around. "The gender of your baby is," she pauses. My heart is pounding. I need to know. "A boy!" I smile and start crying tears of joy. I take out my phone and text everyone of the misfits on a group message. I say 'your nephew is excited to see you'. The replies start flooding in.

I finish my appointment and then get in my car and call Annie telling her to tell everyone to meet me in my dorm. I drive back to the college grounds. When I get into the school I go to the elevator and press the up button.

There are three girls in there already. I walk in and press my floor number. One of the girls speak. "I hear you had sex with Gale Hawthorn."

"How do you know tha-" I start to ask but I am cut off by another girl punching my face. I cringe in pain.

The third girl comes close to my face and talks. Her breath reals of alcohol. She presses me against the wall. "He is ours! Not yours!" They start kicking me and punching me. I fall to the floor and curl into a ball trying to protect my baby.

"Stop!" I shout desperately. I hope this ends soon.

<Finnick's POV>

Jo hasn't showed up yet and I'm getting nervous. "I'm going to go and look for her," I say.

"I'll come with you," Annie offers. We walk out of the room and towards the elevator. I push the down button. When the doors open I see three girls attacking an unconscious girl with red streaked hair. Johanna.

"Hey!" I punch one girl. A second scratches my cheek with her long nails. The third jumps on my back. I knock the girl off my back and pin her to a wall. The two other girls attack me. I throw them on the ground. Step on they're stomachs and continue to pin the other girl to the wall. "You best run now before I can find you again." With that I step off the girls and let them go.

Jo is now unconscious. Annie is by her side. We go down in the elevator and head to my car so we can get to the hospital. I hope that Jo is okay, but I hope even more that Baby Thresh is okay knowing that he is the last piece of Thresh we have.

A/N crap. What will happen to Jo and baby thresh? By the way I need some help on names for the baby.
