The Misfit Safe House(The Hunger Games)

Chapter 12

<Finnick's POV>

"I know right!" Marvel and I are walking down the hallway. We are talking about the game from last night. I am about to say something when the group of girls next to us say something about Jo. I shush Marvel and listen carefully.

"I know Johanna Mason is such a slut and a whore. I mean she had sex with Gale and got pregnant but she claims that she loves Thresh," one of the girls says. I loose it when she says that. I walk up to her and pin her up to the wall by slamming my arm into her neck.

"What did you say about Johanna!" I scream to her.

"The truth!" I punch her cheekbone and the other girls gasp. Marvel starts to pull me back.

"You're a bitch!" I scream to her halfway down the hallway.

"Not as much as her!"

"Go to hell," and with that I push Marvel off of me and we walk outside to the parking lot and get in my car. When we are on the main road I see a car wreck. There are ambulances there. One car is flipped upside down. It's black. That's Cato's car, and Cato was driving Jo back to the university.

"Marvel please tell me that isn't Cato's car," I say to home knowing the answer. He is silent. I pull over.

"Oh my god." Marvel opens his door and goes up to a police officer. He starts crying. I see Peeta and Katniss pull up as well. Only then do I get out of the car.

I walk up to Marvel. "They are in the hospital, we don't know if there're okay," Marvel tells me through light tears.

"Come on let's go," Peeta say holding a crying Katniss. We get back in our cars and go to the hospital.

"What if the baby died," Marvel says. My heart breaks.

"Than our last piece of Thresh is gone," and that's all I say.

<Katniss POV>

I am a mess of tears. "Pee-Peeta what if they're not oka-okay?" I manage to ask through heavy tears.

"They will be," he replies. I am so worried about the baby and Cato and Jo. I can see the hospital in the distance. Now is a good time to call the other misfits.

I take out my phone and call Annie. "Hey Kat!" She replies.

"Hi um Annie, there has been an accident. Meet us at the hospital. I will tell you what room when I know myself," I manage to say through tears.

"Kat what happened?"

"They- they um well I " I hang up because I can't continue. My eyes are tearfilled and my face has a river of tears on it.

"Katniss it's okay. Babe it's okay," Peeta says. I nod.

<Annie's POV>

I text everyone and tell them to meet us at the hospital. I am just pulling into a parking spot. When I walk in the room Kat runs to me.

"Oh Annie! It's just awful! Jo and Cato have gotten in a car crash! They won't let us in the room yet!" Tears find their way down my cheeks.

"Are they alright? What about the baby?" I ask afraid of the worst possible situation.

"Cato and Jo are alive but we won't know about the baby until The doctors have finished their tests," Kat says. She must of have been crying for a while. Her eyes are red and puffy. Her cheks are tear stained, not to mention her eyelashes are soaked in her own tears.

We hug. Our arms are wrapped around eachother and we cry together. That's when I feel three more pairs of arms wrap around us. It's Finnick, Marvel, and Peeta. We cry together in our own little huddle. Soon I feel several more arms which must mean the other misfits must have arrived. Together we have made a little safe house together.
