I wake up and crawl out of bed. Walking down the halls I see the other girls chattering amongst themselves, a few looking up at me and whispering. I eventually find Mallory, sitting on her own and reading a book. I sit down next to her, making eye contact with two girls before they scurry away.

"Don't be concerned about them," Mallory says, placing a bookmark in her novel and closing the cover. "Theres a few rumors going around about you. Nothing that bad though." I feel my heart sink.

"What are they saying?"

"They're saying your powers are odd. They think that you're too powerful. They're afraid."

"Afraid of what?" I ask. I'll admit, I have a fear of loneliness and isolation.

"I'm not sure. Some think you're the next supreme. They know you've been practicing the seven wonders," she says. "It's okay, (Y/N). They've said the same about me." She smiles in a comforting way and places a hand on my shoulder. "It doesn't help that they've been teaching you separately, but you're something special. I guess they really don't have a choice."

"Why does everyone keep saying that I'm special? We all are." Mallory shakes her head.

"No. You're something even more than your average witch. You have too much energy around you. Either you're an extremely powerful witch, or," she leans in so that she is unheard by the other girls, "you're something else." I can't contain my laugh.

"Oh come on Mallory, you can't be serious. I'm nothing that special. I just have a few different abilities," I shrug. She decides to drop the topic and tell me about the book she's reading. It's nice to listen to her ramble. It's comforting.

Eventually, its time for breakfast. Cordelia ushers for me to sit next to her, nervousness written on her face. I take a seat in the chair and begin to eat slowly, waiting for her to talk to me about what is so important. She eventually speaks to me.

"It is my job as supreme to discover my successor and begin her training. As you know, you have passed six out of the seven wonders. Today you will attempt the last, as I feel that you could pass it," she tells me. "Unfortunately, this task is a deadly one. One that will lead to a permanent death, exempt from resurrection. Descensum" I stop eating and look at her with wide eyes.

"Oh, Ms. Cordelia, I don't know if I could do this." I feel myself beginning to cry. "I'm scared." She looks at me with tears welling in her eyes and puts her hand on top of mine.

"I know you are, but I have to know if you are the next supreme." I can't speak, overwhelmed by fear. I tell her I am going for a walk to clear my mind, to which she agrees will be a good thing for me. Honestly, its not the fresh air I need. It's Michael.

I walk outside and onto the sidewalk. Almost like magic, he's there. I run and immediately hug him. After a moment of shock from him, he hugs me back. It's silent between the two of us. Just his arms around me and my face buried in his chest, tears staining his shirt. Eventually, I manage to will myself to pull away, my tear filled eyes meeting his blue ones.

"(Y/N), whats wrong?" he asks, his voice filled with worry and taking my hand.

"They're having me attempt to perform descensum," I tell him. He immediately looks concerned, his eyes darting around, staring at me.

"No, no, no. They can't do that! That will be suicide!" he shouts, becoming angry. "You're a powerful creature, (Y/N), but you can't survive hell. You don't belong there. You won't be able to get back." I begin to panic, knowing that my demise awaits me.

"Cordelia will be wanting me back now. I should go," I cry, hugging him a final time. He decides he wants to be there, and I tell him I will gladly have him in the room if Cordelia is fine with it. He takes my hand and leads me into the house where Zoe, Mallory, and Cordelia were waiting. After a minute of discussing, it was decided that Michael could enter the room as I began my trial.

Before I lay down, Michael places a kiss on my lips and gives me a tight hug before letting me go for possibly the final time. I lay down and recite the spell, tears streaming out of my eyes. Then the whole world blacks out.
