The Damned Kingdom (Rewritten)

-Chapter 5-

Vex shifts to the man. “Hello Vex.” He purrs and circles her.

“What do you want now, Scorn? I have bigger issues.” Vex growls, then she whimpers because something is piercing through her back. Scorn SlipStreams behind her and looks at her back. He taps the splinter likes bones sticking out of her back.

“Wings.” He says backing away. Vex turns around. “Haven’t heard from you in awhile. Wondering when you’d return home.”

“Oh yeah, home. The place where my scared daughter is. So terrified of her mother for what she has become. She fears me more than you.” Vex looks Scorn up and down. Scorn shrugs his broad shoulders and continues his circle.

Vex snaps her fingers and her armor is gone and her clothing is there. A black crystal dress. Hair curled, eyes gleaming. They begin circling each other. “Remember when we found my home planet. You never told me you knew where it was. You took me to that club down the street from the restaurant I worked at before I disappeared. We danced like there was no tomorrow. The night you took me into your arms and claimed me as yours?” Vex twirls around. She snaps her black sparkle nails and they are under the night sky, on top of a skyscraper.

Vex stands on the edge, spinning and twirling. Scorn watches her, she has her moments of being mortal. This is one of them. She stops, facing Scorn. “What are you saying?” Scorn asks joining her on the top of the edge that would end a mortal life, the couple people watching the body fall and splatter onto the ground.

“I’m saying what happened to that moment.” Her wings come back, she spins, when she comes around to face Scorn her crown lays on her head.

Scorn grabs Vex and pulls her close. “Let's find out.” Then he jumps off. Vex wings snap open, Vex giggles. Scorn realizes that no matter how fae she is, the mortal is always there.

Vex lands on top of that same club. Vex looks down the street. Sighing at the sight. Scorn nudges her when he realizes what she's looking at. Vex gives him a reassuring smile, then Shifts closer. Changing clothes in a blink of the eye.

Skinny jeans with holes in the knees, black high top converse, her black Slay shirt and black leather jacket. She leans against the wall just a half block away from what she is looking at. The bus stop where people crowd to get onto the next bus that arrives in five minutes.

Her target steps into the side door. Vex approaches the door. Her hand is on the knob. She never got to say goodbye. Vex focuses her energy and goes into Ghost. She steps through the door and into the hallway. Her other target comes around the corner and freezes.

It looks into the emptiness in the corner of the hall next to the stairs. She stares at it. She walks a couple steps, lifts her hand and places it on his shoulder. “Brother.” He looks around, wondering who called out to him. He runs through her and runs down the stairs.

Vex shakes her head and shifts back to Scorn. She grabs him and Shifts away. They come upon the Four Kingdoms. Vex watches her friends from the distance. “Do you think I wanted this life?” She gesture towards the kingdoms. “I was trying to make a new discovery and teleported to this world!” Vex's wings rise up, spreading out.

Scorn looks at her and lowers his head. Looking down at the ground then without moving his head, looks up at her. “If I win you stay. If you win you go.” He turns into his beast and lunges. Vex side steps. Her sword is in her hands, her armor protecting her body.

Scorn circles. He likes to circle. He lunges again, his claws stretched out, Vex blocks his razor sharp claws with her sword. “Scorn.” She glares at him as he rips into the ground.

Vex stupidly lunges right at Scorn as he lunges at the same time. He pins her to the ground. Slowly shifting back, Vex knees him in the crotch and pushes him over. She stands, sword at his throat. “I win, I will choose what i want to do and it is to help my friends, now you have two options Scorn. Go home, take care of her. Love her until I decide to come back, until I know I am ready to see her, is when I will stay forever. Until then, goodbye, old lover.” Vex shifts to her friends.
