Vex walks down the Hall of Realms. Looking through the circular doorways. Waiting to see something that sparks her interest. Her black wings drag along the floor. Vex scratches her back when the burning comes back. The Second in command Vane said it was because a second set of wings could possibly come in. Vex shakes her head and pulls her hand away.

Vane sifts to her position. “Why are you here?” His voice purrs. Vane is a Dark Fae. But so is Vex. But Vex killed the Light Queen and Dark King and only the Dark Magic chose her as it’s new vessel. Giving her the wings, and crown.

“Because I want something to find interesting. I thought I told you to go to Earth and find my people?” Vex asks looking into a Realm that is only water. Then she keeps walking.

Vane activates his Shade. Fae can change their appearance. Mostly used so mortals don’t recognize them. To stay hidden. The Fae only like going to Earth, makes them feel alive rather than cold-hearted fae with no mercy. “Fine.” He growls and Shifts away.

Vex rolls her eyes and continues. Looking down at her black battle armor. She takes off her helmet and looks at it, removing the crown from it. The crown completes the helmet. Her fingers run along the black blue gem. Remembering her friends, her family. So black and blue she is now. No red. Just black and blue. She replaces the crown and returns the helmet back onto her head.

She continues roaming. She pulls out her sword from its scabbard that sits between her wings. Twirling it in her hands. The Sword of Darkness. Also known as the Sword of Flames. This sword killed the Light Queen and Dark King. It drags on the ground leaving a streak of burnt flooring.

Vex stares down at the sword burning the golden marble flooring. She looks up and see a skeleton. She sheathes her sword and kneels next to the skeleton. “Oh you stupid mortal. Entering the Hall of Realms. Scared to choose one to jump into. Probably had a better chance than starvation.” She takes the note from its bone hands.

She unrolls it. The paper is written in a language not even Vex knows. Vex knows many languages. But not this one. She shoves it into her waist band. She is about ready to pass a portal to a Realm when she see three people. She blinks a couple times, rubs her eyes. Notices she’s not imagining it.

“I’m coming back.” She burst through the portal. Vex freefalls, keeping her wings tucked in. She slams against the ground between Jay, Kat, and Krypt. She stands and glares at the foot soldiers. “Do you really want to dare fight with my friends?” The foot soldiers pause. Standing there, watching in disbelief.

Then they charge. Vex pulls her sword and lunges. The six dead in just a minute. Vex stands in the middle of the pile of bodies. She looks over at her shoulder to see Kat running over.

Vex activates a shade removing her armor and replacing them with her mortal clothing. Kat hugs her. If Vex was her old self she would feel joy and warmth to hug her friend again. But she doesn’t. The joy is there but not the feelings of it. Black and blue.

Kat pulls away, Jay walks over and Krypt is stomping over. “Couldn’t have done that sooner?” Krypt grumbles.

Kat stares at Vex, searching Vex’s eyes for some piece of her old self left. There is, but it is covered. Vex deactivates her Shade. “Guess I shouldn’t hide the new me.” Vex removes her helmet, letting the blond hair blow in the breeze. But they notice the black streak in her hair.

“Wh-what happened to you?” Kat asks with what seems to be fear.

“Kidnapped, by a fae. Supposedly they needed my blood for something. Except I was saved by a man. He saved me, taught me about the Fae. Got me to the point at which I couldn’t get better and killed the Queen of Light and the King of Darkness. Then the Dark Magic absorbed itself into me, now I am the Queen of Darkness. The First to ever be heard of.”

“How long have you been here?” Kat asks.

“Two hundred years.” Vex replies looking down at the ground.

“And you haven’t even tried to find us!” Jay mutters with anger sheathing his sword.

Vex looks up, her eyes darkening. “Yes, I did. But when you are a mortal stuck in an unknown land, helping the people you learn to care for on this world, you would rather help these guys first from death, then find you!” She jabs a finger a Jay. “I tried. I tried and tried and tried. I failed, then I came into power and have been roaming the Hall of Realms every time I can. Trying to find the world.”

“Yeah, yeah, backstory, backstory, blah, blah. Where the hell are we? That’s all I want to know!” Krypt said rudely.

“The Land of Four Kingdoms. Even though there are more its just what it’s called.” Vex started explaining. As Vex was explaining Jay was looking around not paying attention. He was more looking at the colors around anything living and worrying about Kat. He knew Kat wasn’t expecting a Vex that was changed this much.

‘Two hundred years here, two months there. This is stupid…’ Jay thought to himself. He then looked past Vex and saw that the color that was coming off of her was black. Something felt off about this. ‘He who has thy Aura shall fall thy blade and fight darkness for the rest of thy time. Could she? I hope not...’  He kept going to himself. He then looked past Vex and saw some orange. But it wasn’t exploding off of the person like everyone else's color was. Jay instantly knew that that person knew something.

“Hey you!!” Jay yelled and started running towards the person who is showing orange.

“Jay!” Kat calls out and follows.

“You wanna follow them?” Krypt asked Vex but he realized that she was already gone. So he rolled a new blunt and started smoking. “Sure leave me alone…” he started running after them with his blunt still in his mouth.
