"Gina! C'mon we're gonna be late." I shouted, my voice, echoing throughout the apartment we shared.

"Just a moment!" She shouted back from the bathroom. I sighed as I leaned against our kitchen counter and scrolled through my phone. Gina and I were heading to a party at Brook's. I'm still not quite sure what the party was for. Although let's be honest, Brook doesn't ever need a reason to throw a party.

"Hey plug my phone in will you?" Gina called out. I grabbed Gina's phone from the living room and plugged it into the outlet in the kitchen, then went back to scrolling Instagram.

I saw a cute date idea in a video and was reminded that this weekend was our 3 year anniversary. Gina was the love of my life, and I've never been so happy before. She makes my life better every day.

I smiled happily as I thought about my amazing girlfriend. I couldn't help but think about the future we were going to have together, and growing a family with her. Having kids and growing old together. Traveling and going on dates and everything in between.

As I got lost in my thoughts, her phone suddenly vibrated, knocking me out of them. I raised an eyebrow and out of genuine curiosity, I leaned over and read the message that had appeared on her screen. I figured it was just her mom or something. However, my heart dropped when I read the message.

From Sylvia
Hey beautiful, I can't wait to see you tomorrow night ;) I wish I could be kissing you right now xo

Everything seemed to stop. My whole world. The time, my breaths, my heart. Gina was.. cheating on me? No this has to be a mistake. She loves me. There has to be an explanation.

"Hey babe, so I was thinking about ideas for this weekend and I-" She paused in the hallway, halfway through putting a hoop earring on when she saw my face. I don't even know what my face looked like. Hurt, betrayed, confused, angry. Whatever I was expressing however, she noticed. "What's wrong?" She asked, looked dumbfounded.

I wanted to scream at her. Yell at her. But I also didn't want to jump to any conclusions. I blinked a few times, and opened and closed my mouth several times, attempting to find the right words to say. I glanced at Gina's phone, and then back at her.

"Who.." I began but paused. My heart was racing. I almost didn't want to know the answer to the question I was about to ask. But I needed to know. I swallowed the lump in my throat and sighed shakily. "Who's Sylvia?" I finally asked. Her eyes grew slightly wider, and her mouth dropped open a little. That only helped confirm my worst thoughts. She quickly covered it up with a fake smile and confused look however. I could feel the tears welling in my eyes.

"You know who Sylvia is, I've told you. She's my cousin." Gina spoke confidently. And if I hadn't seen the text, I would have believed her without a second thought. But right now my heart was hurting by how easy is was for her to lie to me, and that fact that she has been lying to me for god knows how long. I felt an anger rising in my chest. My hurt and confused expression was replaced with the beginnings of a scowl, and I let out a sharp scoff.

"So do all your cousins text you saying that they wish they were kissing you right now?" I snapped. She furrowed her brows, trying to keep up with her lie, but her face held concern because she knew that she had been caught.

"What are you talking about?" She asked. I unplugged her phone and tossed it at her. She caught it and read the message, her face contorting to panic and regret. She looked up at me but couldn't find the words to defend herself. Tears began to fall from my eyes. I tried to wipe them away and stay strong but my heart was breaking into a million pieces right now.
