"I don't care Audrey, just drop it!" You shouted at Audrey down the long hallway. You both had just gotten back from a bar, and you were pretty pissed after seeing Audrey flirt with this girl there. She didn't want to admit that she was flirting but you knew better. I mean you don't accept someone's number and laugh at all their jokes if you aren't interested.

"Y/N I swear I wasn't flirting with her!" Audrey called after you but you didn't listen. You continued to make your way down the hallway to the elevator so you could get back to your apartment. Suddenly you abruptly turned around and let out a dry laugh.

"Then what would you call that?" You asked sarcastically and she didn't answer until she was only a few feet away from you.

"I call it talking to an old friend?" She responded, although she was asking a question. You scoffed at that. Another lie.

"Of course it was." You muttered before turning back around and heading towards the elevator again. You walked in, Audrey following shortly after.

"I don't understand why you think I would do that to you." Audrey said as she aggressively pressed the button that would take us up. You bit your lip and tapped your foot in anger as the elevator doors closed.

"Whatever just drop it." You spat. Suddenly the elevator jerked to a stop, but the doors didn't open. You and Audrey both shared a look of confusion, though Audrey's held more fear. You walked over to the buttons and pressed the level you wanted to get to multiple times, but nothing moved the elevator. You sighed angrily.

"Of course. Of course out of all nights this is the night the elevator gets stuck in it's shaft." You muttered out. You groaned as you let your head fall onto the doors of the elevator with a thud. You just wanted to get home and sleep, but now you were stuck in an elevator with the one person you want to strangle right now.

"Y/N..." You heard Audrey mutter. Without even looking behind you, you snapped back a response.

"Not now Audrey. Just let me think." You then began to click the emergency call button.

"Y/N." Audrey said but louder, and with a hint of worry in her voice. You waited for the operator to answer, not paying attention to Audrey.

"Hang on okay?" You retaliated, rather annoyed at her persistence.

"Y/N." She nearly shouted, her voice shaking. This caught your attention and you finally looked back to see Audrey sitting on the ground, her knees tucked into her chest and her face as white as a ghost. She had a few tears and her breathing was erratic. She was having a panic attack. Suddenly your "girlfriend senses" kicked in and you rushed over to her, concern all over your face. You crouched next to her and placed on of your hands on her knee and the other on her neck.

"Babe, hey I'm right here." You whispered. You then remembered that she has really bad claustrophobia, and she got really bad panic attacks because of it. With how fast and shallow she was breathing you were sure she was going to pass out soon if she didn't stop. "Babe pay attention to my voice, nothing else. Look at me." You instructed and she looked into your eyes. The fear she held in her eyes was almost unbearable.

"Babe..." She breathed out, not even being able to finish a sentence.

"Don't talk okay. Just focus on your breathing." You said and she nodded. "Inhale, right now." You said and she began to inhale. Even though her breath was shaky, it was progress. You began to count, so she could match her breath. "1...2...3...4, now exhale." You said. She was able to follow the directions really well. You smiled sadly at her. She continued to breathe to your counting and soon her breath had slowed down dramatically.

"I'm scared..." She whispered. You nodded.

"I know baby, I know. I'm here don't worry it's going to be okay." You comforted her. You shifted your position so that you were leaning against one of the walls, and you wrapped your arm around her waist and gently pulled her into you. She fell without hesitation and cuddled into your chest as you wrapped one of your arms around her. You kissed the top of her head, her raven black hair tickling your face and you exhaled deeply.

"Can I tell you something?" You heard Audrey whisper after several moments of silence. You nodded.

"Of course." You replied. She inhaled deeply before continuing.

"I wasn't flirting with her." She stated and you sighed. You didn't have the energy to argue with her. You decided to let her explain herself.

"Then why were you laughing at everything she said and why did you accept her number?" You asked. You weren't exactly mad about it all, you were more upset. And now that you weren't yelling at her, she could tell in your voice that you were hurt.

"She is my old friend. But she's also a comedian. Her number she gave me was her business card. I was laughing because that's what she does, she makes people laugh." She explained and suddenly you felt awful. If you had just slowed down and taken some time to let her explain...

"Oh." Was all you could say. You felt and heard her chuckle.

"It's okay babe, I forgive you." She said and you laughed.

"I'm really sorry." You apologized. Just then you felt the elevator jerk , shaking both of you before it continued to move again. She looked at you and smiled, relief written all over her face. You both stood up and you wrapped her in your arms. She threw her arms around your neck and kissed you deeply.

"I love you." You said after you both pulled away.

"I love you too." She said with a smile.
