The first thing we searched out for were shopping carts to put the supplies we were about to acquire in. Once we had those, we split up into our groups and went to the right sections of the store.

Beth and I started with getting cases of water, stacking as many as we could in the carts while trying to save room for food. We were pretty much silent, aside from me trying to make failed small talk. Beth didn't seem up to talk to me. Or maybe at all.

I eventually gave up while on our way to the canned food aisle.

When we were almost there, an infected stepped out of an aisle right next to me. It pounced on me, sending us both to the ground. Why did this always happen to me?

While I was struggling to keep the infected from trying to eat me, Beth had quickly made her way to me and put her machete a good two inches into the skull of the thing. She pulled the weapon out and it stopped moving.

I just pushed it to the side and stood up as casual I could, rubbing my sore and most likely bruised from yesterday arm. I feel kinda accident prone right now. Or a magnet to these things. Whatever it is, this is the second time I've managed to get pinned by one in two days; and I didn't like it.

We went back to our carts, pushing them the rest of the way to the canned goods, actually keeping an eye out for any more sneak attacks from the infected.

We just remained silent as we started piling the food into the carts, not really caring what we grabbed. You can't really be too picky during an apocalypse.

Once we had filled up the carts, we made our way back to our rendezvous spot; the electronics section where the door to the back was. Matt gave me a worried look and rushed over to me at seeing my somewhat bloody jacket.

I waved him off, "An infected dude came out and jumped on me. Beth killed him though."

Carl and Matt looked at Beth before going back to their cart and one of them pushing it through the double and the other one holding open said doors. Beth and I pushed ours through as well as Carl pulled out a flashlight and started leading us through the storage.

We soon made it back to our camp, it was lit up by the fire in the center. I felt like I couldn't have seen a better sight than our little campsite.

We took the shopping carts full of supplies to the little stockpile off to the side and just left them there, deciding it wouldn't really be worth unloading them.

I had retreated back to my failed tent set-up attempt and set my stuff off to the side. I grabbed the poles and started trying to get my tent to go up.

After struggling for a little bit, Beth had come up and watched me. After watching me struggling for a bit longer, she had come over and crouched next to me, "Have you never set up a tent?"

I didn't look up, "What makes you think that? The fact I can't put up the tent?"

I don't know if she rolled her eyes, though I wouldn't be surprised if she did, "Want help?"

I just kinda nodded as she got up and went over to the other side of my half-up tent and started instructing me what to do.

Within a few minutes, we had it up and I moved my stuff into it and set up my bed inside. Eventually, we ate and soon went to bed.
