The back seat was pretty cramped, I ended up having Mac sitting in my lap. The rest of the seats of the car was full of supplies. I guess they had this car ready for quick getaways.

I looked to see who else was in the car. Matt was driving. Alicia was in the passengers' seat. Were we the only ones to make it out?

We kept driving for a little while until a loud, wheezing cough came from the passengers' seat. Matt just kept driving, must have been wanting to get as far away from the store as he could.

It was a good hour or so until we reached the outskirts of the city; I don't have the best of an internal clock. We pulled up behind a silver truck, Carl standing beside it and Beth and a husky dog sitting in the bed of it.

Matt opened the windows a crack before turning off the car, stepping out and making his way to Carl. They exchanged a few words before looking back at the car. Beth then butted in, sounding like she was yelling or at least talking loud to make a point; I just kinda watched from the backseat, holding Mac in my lap.

I couldn't really make out what they were saying, but they fell silent as more infected came crawling out of nearby trees off the side of the road. Carl and Matt ran to the driver seats of the cars before speeding off. I let out a little chuckle as I saw Beth be shoved into the tailgate of the truck through the front window.

We drove for another thirty minutes until more coughing came from the passenger seat. Matt opened the drivers' window and made hand signals or something out of it, seemingly talking to Carl as Carl pulled over and Matt following the trucks lead.

They both got out once more and met up, talking. After they seemed to be arguing for a little bit, I heard a raspy groan from the front seat. Mac let out a startled gasp as she froze at the sound. I couldn't blame her though, so did I. The groan sounded like the struggle of breath the infected make.

I quickly opened the door and shoved Mac out, her falling to the ground before crawling up and taking steps away from the car. Alicia was now trying to grab me from her seat, it was difficult for her because we were sitting behind her.

I quickly opened our door and shoved Mac out before getting out myself. I peaked through the passenger side window, Alicia not even realizing I was there until my shadow fell over her. She quickly turned her attention from trying to get over the seat (although doing a poor job at that as she didn't really move her legs) to banging on the window.

I clicked the door open, allowing the ten-year-old girl to throw her whole body against it and send it flying open. I fell to the ground as she crawled on me, trying to take a bite out of me.

It was now that the other three had noticed and came to help me out. Except for Matt, he went to Mac to make sure she was okay. I don't blame him, she was his daughter.

Carl ripped the little girl off of me, throwing her to the side. Alicia fell to the ground and rolled a few times before stopping, then standing back up and seeming to give us a glare before coming back at us.

It was then that there was a loud noise, and Alicia's head flung backward, the rest of her body following its lead as she crumbled to the ground.

I looked at where the noise came from, my ears still ringing a bit; Beth had shot the little girl in the head.
