She slammed the door of her car shut, and hurried to the supermarket. It was hectic day and she was running late,she quickly put the items she needed in her trolley and thought about what her mom would say,if she knew.
She was asked to bring a list of items by her mother,who was planning to give a 'surprise' party to her 'oh so precious son',who was returning home after six months,from a business trip.Now don't assume the worst about her, being caught in the middle of her semester exams and party planning do not exactly make her forbearing enough to listen to her mom's ranting.She had just finished her exam and was heading home to study for her next paper,when she remembered the 'party',warning bells rang inside her mind as she had grudgingly made her way to the supermarket.
Getting all what she had needed,Victoria hurried to the cashier.While the cashier did his job,she rummaged her bag for her purse.Just as she found it,the cashier spoke to her,
"Are you new to the town?"
"No,actually I'm here for a brief visit",this was Victoria's hometown but she decided the stranger didn't necessarily need to know that.
"I guessed that,your face isn't one that I would forget",he said.
Victoria now took the time to look at the guy in front of her.He seemed to be the same age as her,with brown eyes,brown hair and a burly physique,he seemed to be quite easy on the eyes.
Victoria smiled,the stranger was trying his luck.Looking to his name plate on his shirt pocket,she began,"better learn some new pick up lines Nathaniel."
Nathaniel chuckled,"So stranger,now that you know my name it's only fair that you give me yours."
Victoria handed over the cash and gathered her bags in her hand.She was already late,and didn't have spare time to flirt with a stranger,and she wasn't someone who gave her name randomly to strangers.
"you'll just have to take a guess and I'm in a hurry,so see you,"she said in a cheerful voice as she made her way to the door.She could still feel a pair of rugged eyes looking at her,even as she got onto the car.He was clearly not from around here and he had an aura that made Victoria feel a bit uneasy.
"we will meet again Miss Sparks,"he whispered to himself watching her leave.
"Very soon."
