"Mom! I'm home!" Victoria shouted as she opened the door.

"Tori!Honey, come on in," shouted Mrs.Sparks from the kitchen."Did you buy all the stuff i asked you to?"

"Yes mom,all what you need to make the cake is inside the bag."

"My beautiful daughter, all tired," Mrs.Sparks cajoled."How were your exams?"

"They were OK mom,but i still have another paper next week."

Victoria looked at her mom, with vibrant green eyes and beautiful brown locks her mom was breathtakingly beautiful, even at her late forties. Her mother's tresses were the colour of raging fire,a trait she was thankfully passed down with.

"you would have done great honey, you are staying till Aiden comes right?"Asked Mrs.Sparks.

"Yes mom,I'm staying the night. What time is he coming?" asked Victoria. She lived in an apartment close to her college that was about a two hour journey from her home.

"Great! He'll be arriving at the station in about an hour or so," replied Mrs.Sparks with her eyes gleaming with joy.

"I think I'm going to go fetch Aiden, that sucker would never expect that, maybe play a prank or two," said Victoria with a mischievous look.

"Language!"

Victoria laughed."Where is dad?"

"He will be here by the evening"

Victoria's blue eyes hardened at that, while her mom held her shoulders comfortingly.

"Tori, you have to und..." started Mrs.Sparks before she was cut off by her daughter.

"I understand mom," she said curtly. Her dad never had time for his family ,and was rarely ever home and this was something that bothered her a great deal and her mom knew about it.

Victoria smiled fleetingly at the sad look in her mother's eyes as she made her way to her room, not knowing that in a couple of hours, her life was going to change.A change that would devastate her.

Victoria wanted to surprise him,her brother Aidan. She had not seen him for over six months because,he had gone abroad for a business trip. Aidan was the sales manager of the Sparks co-operation,which was her family business.

Spark co-operation had been in her family since her grandparents,it was involved in the sale of high technological equipment for chemical and medical uses.It now was handled by her father and uncle, but recently Aidan upon graduating,Aidan had joined in as well.

Victoria waited at the railway station. It was five o'clock in the evening and Aidan was due any minute. It was a gloomy day,it had been raining all day and the rain had just stopped, when she left home. She was seated on a bench reading a newspaper, when a sudden strong wind blew, making her paper fly away from her hands. She ran to grab it,but the wind was relentless.

When she finally managed to grab it,Victoria saw that she was a long way from the railway station. Her town was a small one,the kind where everyone knew each other. She had ended up near the isle leading to the graveyard, which was next to the railway station.Victoria had heard loads of rumours about this particular graveyard and she herself had made some stories up about this place. She was a person who believed that rumours  tend to stem from a cause and she did not for one bit like the situation she was in.

"Stupid!Stupid," she chided herself, who in the world ran after a newspaper like that. She thought that happened in the movies and always thought those people to be stupid because,in the end all that entailed was horror.Well, things like that did happen, she thought with remorseful look in her face.

Victoria tried to take the route back, but the rain had resume its malicious expedition. She hurried to take shelter under a huge tree which was just near the wooden board that read Oakenwood graveyard.
