"Maisie! Lyanna!" The girl called out to her friends.

Maisie and Lyanna were from the wealthy part of the town. While Victoria knew Isla from twelfth grade, she knew Maisie and Lyanna since she was a kid, as they were family friends.

Maisie was a tall girl, with very striking features. She was hard to miss in a room, with her rosy skin, dark raven hair, and honey colored eyes.Today, was no different, she was dressed in a short A line off the shoulder pink dress that had intricate designs laced in it. Lyanna on the other hand was a brunette, who was quite shy.She wore a long grey dress that matched her eyes.

Both Lyanna and Maisie looked at Isla approaching them, their uninterested looks quickly turned into genuine smiles. Victoria was greeted with hugs and squeals, which she returned only half heartedly.

"Tori, so how are you? What have you been up to?" Lyanna asked sweetly.

"Nothing much, just work and everything."Victoria replied.

"It's been so long, since all of us got together, with all of us in different cities now. I just come home when I get days off from work."Isla said.

"Yeah, only Tori chose to work here in Oakenfield. It must be nice staying at home, but also a little bit of a bother since our folks like to keep these parties and everything right,Tori?"Lyanna questioned.

Before Victoria could reply to that,Maisie butted in. "Oh!Lyanna don't you remember Isla doesn't even attend these charity functions our moms take part in.You know since....." she trailed off, realizing that she had said something that wasn't supposed to be said.

The aura around them changed, the warm feeling turned icy cold. The girls looked from Tori to Maisie, expecting a cat fight to begin.

Tori conceded. "It's ok girls. Yeah ,the last time I was here mom was with me. You can talk about it."She took a glass of wine from the waiter, as he passed. Taking a small sip, she smirked, "I did attend a couple of events, though you and Lyanna weren't there. Perhaps you were busy fighting over your boyfriends, and that made you preoccupied."

Maisie looked red and ready to spit fire. "Listen here you bitch, just because we were'nt there to support your lunatic theories....." she stated as she was cut off by Isla.

"Whoa! Whoa! Ladies, come on don't do this."

"Maisie's right Victoria, you never change. You bring up the past that we never wanted to revisit and you play the victim here," said Lyanna.

"Victim! Victim!" Victoria shouted in outrage. "You two never bothered to listen to my side of the story, you completely abandoned me when I needed you the most."

"Your side was crazy Victoria.I thought you would have got some clarity over the issue after your therapy, but I was wrong. You still are acting crazy after all," said Lyanna solemnly.

"Lyanna!" Isla reprimanded after looking at Victoria, whose face paled.

What Lyanna said was not something new. She was used to it, but to hear it from someone who she thought was her close friend brought a different type of hurt entirely.

"I'm sorry Tori, I don't know what came over me....I shouldn't have said that," Lyanna stammered.

"Just save it." Victoria said as she looked to the ground to school her face. By now the guests had started to notice that there was a quarrel going on. There were whispers being uttered.

"This is not the time. Let's stop this," Maisie told the girls. She looked towards the crowd in an emotion that Victoria had never seen in Maisie's face before, fear.

Victoria felt a deep stare. She turned around to look at the dark eyes of her father. He clearly seemed displeased at their behavior. But, when was he ever pleased? Victoria had stopped caring a long time ago. She looked right back into her father's eye challenging him, before she was dragged by Isla away from the crowd.

A/N

Hello, everyone! I just gave you a picture of Maisie's dress, too bad I couldn't find a gown that shows what Lyanna was wearing. This chapter gives a peak onto Victoria's relationship with her firends, and I think it's more of a filler.I will try to update more regularly, but no promises:)
