"Yes, Isla. I'll meet you at the park in front of the mall then,"Victoria said. She was ready to go, dressed in a dark blue denim jeans and a simple pink crop top, paired with her favourite white canvas shoe. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and nodded when she approved what she saw.
Victoria got onto her car and asked her driver to take her to the town city mall. "Alrighty then," she said to herself.
................................................
Victoria stood near the park, looking at her watch. It was four o'clock and the Isla was late, even after asking her to come early. She shifted from one foot to another, getting impatient. Just then a black car swerved into a stop in front of her. Two girls in pretty summer dresses got down; one of the girls with dark raven hair took off her sunglasses, sent flying kisses and waved to the person in the car, while the other girl looked in envy at the public display of affection.
The two girls started walking towards the mall, when Victoria called out "Lyanna! Maisie!" She walked to them and they were just in the process of exchanging hugs, when Isla arrived.
Isla was in short of breath and her hair looked disheveled. "Had to hurry, my scooter wouldn't work, had to take the bus," she said between wheezes.
The trio started laughing. "At least you made it on time, remember when she came came to your home when we had almost finished dinner?" Asked Lyanna to Victoria.
"What was excuse that time?"Maisie teased.
"She forgot!" Victoria exclaimed, which sent the girls into fits of laughter.
"Ok, ok guys. I get it, let's go now," huffed Isla.
The girls enjoyed what girls loved the most, shopping. After a little while, Maisie and Lyanna had too many bags in their hands. Then they decided on having dinner together. Victoria really did enjoy her evening, fitting on clothes pretending to be models on the runway, the slight opening of the curtains of the fit on room and showing the others their dress, when the dress didn't look good on them, Maisie insisting on buying stuff for them and them denying, all in all it was childish and really fun.
And just like that, time ran out and it was time to go. Victoria had called her driver to come pick her up, Maisie's dad had called demanding her to come home before eight because they had to go 'somewhere' she said, and Lyanna too joined Maisie as the both of them lived close by. Isla too had left ten minutes back, when she received a call from her mom. So Victoria was left alone.
She called her driver again as he was getting really late, it had been over twenty minutes now. When he finally answered, "Mr. Steve, where are you? Shall I take a taxi then?"She asked frustrated.
"No madam, I'll be there in five minutes," answered her driver. "There's a traffic jam at the entrance of the mall, could you meet me near the bakers lane, madam?"
"Ok, Mr. Steve."Victoria said as she walked out of the mall. There certainly was a traffic jam, so she walked a block to reach the said lane. When she arrived to the junction, it seemed to be deserted. Granted it was after eight, it was to be expected from a residential area.
Suddenly, Victoria heard the boom of a car behind her. From what she could hear, it was driving at full speed and just as she turned, she saw the car come at a stop a mere foot away from her. Victoria screamed, petrified. Then three men got down from the car, they were dressed in black and had their faces masked by tying a handkerchief. They approached Victoria, her heart was racing now but she was frozen in place. Within seconds they pulled her hand and hauled her towards the car, she resisted. Victoria screamed, she struggled as she tried to wrestle the men,but what was a mere girl to three fully grown men. Victoria had flashes of a similar situation that happened to her, the men tried to stop her screaming by holding a hand over her mouth, but Victoria bit the hand in retaliation.
"Ouch!" One of them shouted. He gave her a hard slap, calling her a bitch. The slap left her ears ringing, when she came to, she realized that she had been dragged into the car. Victoria tried helplessly to jump out of the car, but the two of the men had a firm grip on her hand, "Stop resisting!"The man who had slapped her shouted, and raised his hand to deliver another blow, but the his accomplice held his hand and brought a cloth toward her face.
"Chloroform !" She thought. She stopped breathing, she knew if she took a breath she would be a goner. One of them closed the door, while this man pressed the cloth further into her face.
"Let's see how long you hold on," a gruff voice said with unconcealed mirth. Soon Victoria's chest started giving up, she was forced to take a breath out of reflex and that's when everything turned murky, before finally going dark.
