Beep Beep Beep Beep BeepMy eyes opened to the annoying sound of my alarm clock waking me up at 6:30 a.m. I rolled over and hit snooze before I was completely awake. Just when I was about to fall asleep once more my door flung open and my twin brother Logan ran and leaped onto my bed. His back hit the bed hard and it bounced and almost comes off the white carpet in my bedroom.
I groned as I pulled the covers over my head. "River! River! River! River!" He yelled as he shook me awake. I threw the covers off my head now that I was fully awake and a little annoyed. "It's the first day of school! We're seniors River, SENIORS!"
"Your a senior? Wow that's impressive considering that you almost failed the second grade." I teased with sass and playfulness in my voice.
He threw himself around so that he was lying parallel to me on my bed. "Touche, little sister. Touche."
I hit him with a pillow and he dramatically falls off the side of my bed. "I'm not your little sister, we're twins you dumbass."
He springs up from the floor and heads towards the door. "Well mom said your adopted!" He says quickly before running out the door.
I rolled my eyes and smile as I get up and head to my vanity.
My smile quickly drops when I get a glimpse of myself. My horrible light brown hair is in a frizzy tangled mess, my eyes have unbearable bags underneath them and my face has at least five pimples.
Though it wasn't these things that upset me the most, they can all be fixed pretty easily. It was my horrible permanent features that make me so ugly.
My nose is way to small for my large egg sized head. My ears stick out like elves. And my body is a unbearable size. I mean how many 18 year olds that you know are a size 10? I just wish I was skinny like the girls in the magazines.
After making myself feel horrible I quickly brush my hair and teeth and apile just enough makeup to make myself look decent, but not enough that I look like a doll.
I then go over to my closet and pick out a few cute shirts. I slip them on in front of the mirror, and rip them off as soon as I see my reflection. "Why doesn't anything look good on me!" I mumble as I continue searching through my closet. I eventually settle of a t-shirt and jeans o that will hide my overgrown thighs.
After slipping them on, my brother opens the door ajar and peaks his head inside. "Mom made chocolate chip pancakes!" He said opening his eyes when he confirmed that I was fully dressed. "If you want any you better hurry before I eat them all!" He starts running down the large staircase and I chase after him. We reach the kitchen and I tackle him to the ground before he can reach any of the pancakes.
I put his arm behind his back as we laugh and he mutters "alright you win! You win!"
I shoot up off him with a smug smile on. "Like always." I say as I sit down on the island and put a few pancakes on my plate.
My mom looks at us with the look that says 'Don't roughhouse in the kitchen.' but she only comes around in between us and puts one arm around both of us. "My babies are seniors!" She said as she practically suffocates us. "I remember your first day of kindergarten. Oh where do those days go?" We give her a annoyed look and she let go of us and went around to the other side of the island and started putting dishes away.
I stuff my face with pancakes once more and take one last swig of orange juice. "First one to the car gets to pick the music!" I say to my brother as I launch myself off of the island stool and race towards the front doors.
With my brother right behind me I swing the doors open and raced for the driveway where our cherry red convertible that we shared is waiting for us.
He passed me off pretty quickly, 'Screw his long legs!'
He hopped over the doors and right into the driver's seat. As I got in the passenger seat he turned on the car and his rock music up all the way. "River, when will you learn you can't beat me?" He says pulling out of the driveway.
I rolled my eyes and smile at my brother as our blue eyes meet.
I put my arm on the top of the door and I rest my head of my hand as I close my eyes and listen to the horrible rock music that my brother is singing along to...
