I wake up pretty early in the morning, so I push my helmet on, logging into ALO, or the short version for Alfheim Online. I sit up in the bed we had rented, swinging my legs over the bed, and sorting through my inventory, trashing some things that won't be of any worth if I sell them, and putting the weapons and armor back on, it's a habit of me taking off my over armor while my avatar sleeps. I pluck some healing potions out of my inventory, then place them in some bags attached to my belt. A finger taps me on the shoulder, and I squeak in surprise, scooting so I can turn around. Klein grins at me as he pulls his hand back, making me slightly smile.
"Why do you do that?" I mutter, closing my inventory.
"Well, good morning to you too. How long have you been up?" He asks, sitting up. I check the clock, doing the math, and then turn back to him.
"About fifteen minutes. I've been sorting out my inventory," I stand up, stretching my arms, "and passing the time."
"Okay. Do you think Lefa and Kirito are up yet?" Klein stands too, walking over to the door, and opening it. The hallway is dark and quiet, answering his question. "Well, to pass more time, do you want to go find some monsters to fight?" Klein suggests, and I nod, following him out the door.
"Sure. That'll ready us for the World Tree." I point out, opening a small map of the area. "It looks like there's a cluster of some monsters to our left a few minutes if we fly." I show him the map, and he smiles, drifting up into the air, and I follow. We start zooming towards the cluster, me dropping suddenly, and Klein skidding to a stop above me and then dropping. Some of these monsters look like the higher level ones from SAO, making me wonder if the game developers and Admin got the idea from SAO. Dragging my rapier out of the scabbard on my side, it's blade shimmering a lilac color, sprinkles of white sparkling like stars, matching my outfit. Its black handle is straight out of the hilt, two star-like shapes sticking out of both ends, both stars glittering purple and white. The tip has a diamond on top of the blade, which is layered with white, black, and violet. Smiling as the Gorilla-like monster rushes towards me, as soon as it's an inch from me, I zip out of the way, piercing its flesh, it letting out a roar. I continue using my SAO experience to my advantage, darting all over, and jabbing it over and over. I call to Klein when its health only dips a little, who rushes towards the Gorilla, hacking at it with his red broadsword. It raises a hairy paw to swipe at Klein, but I switch swords quickly to my broadsword, which is completely black, thorns of the blade sticking out, the handle wired with black and white string, the hilt ends having spikes on it as well. I hew its paw off, which disintegrates, making the Gorilla roar, turning to me. Klein glances at me and smirks, then slices at the monster's back. Soon, it puffs up like in SAO, then disappears.
"That was hard! I wonder if all monsters are like that in this game?" Klein calls over to me, and I float down to meet him on the ground. My feet make contact with the soft grass, which reminds me of the plains in SAO.
"I don't think so. That was a pretty big monster, and the monsters aren't all Gorillas. There's bound to be some weaker monsters that we haven't run into yet." I reason, and he grins with a nod, and we high five for the good kill. We end up having to fight a lot of those monsters, but we end up raising our skill level by a lot. Mid-battle, I get a message, so I finish it up, then open it. It's from Kirito, and he's asking where we are. I type in that we're just out raising our skill levels, and that we would be there soon. "Hey, Klein? We should head back. It looks like Kirito and Lefa are both online." I call to him as he finishes off a wolf.
"Okay!" He joins me in the air as I start flying back to the inn, somewhat scared. Klein and I land in front of the hotel, walking in to see Lefa and Kirito sitting at a table, talking about something.
