I walked into the cafeteria and stood there thinking. "Should I tell jay". It's not fair to lie to him. Nobody talked to me today which confused me they always say hi to me, they always talk to me. I looked over at the table and saw them all talking. "Maybe he found out" I said to myself. I turned around quickly and accidentally bumped into Violet spilling my hot coffee all over her. Causing her to drop her tray. "I'm so sorry" I said picking up a napkin and handing it to her. She snatched it out of my hand and threw it. "What the fuck is wrong with you" she yelled. Everyone was looking at us. "It was an accident" Chance said pushing her aside. Violet walked out of the cafeteria. The vice principal blew the whistle and shouted "ALRIGHT EVERYONE MIND YOUR BUSINESS GET BACK TO EATING". Everyone got back to whatever they were doing. Chance picked up my hot cup "really? hot coffee at 12 in the afternoon" he chuckled. I shrugged my shoulders. "Wanna come sit with us"? He said pointing to his friends. The table was filled and they were all athletes. "I'm gonna go sit with my friends". I walked over to the table and tried to sit beside Jacob but he put his bag down. So I sat next to gray. Nobody even looked at me they just kept talking and laughing. "Did I miss something" I whispered into gray's ear. He sighed.
Gray: everybody knows.
Cali: what?
Gray: they've excluded you.
Cali: what does that even mean.
Jay got up to throw something away.
Gray: you should go talk to him.
I nodded my head and walked over to jay who was by the trash. I knew I had to break up with him I truly did believe me and him would work out from the start but obviously not.
Cali: you're mad at me.
Jay:
Cali: I'm sorry.
Jay: you know, I don't think we're gonna work out. You've fucked me over so many times.
Cali: oh I've fucked yOU over?
Jay: YES! YES YOU HAVE!
Cali: oh what about those 15 girls you slept with?
Jay: that was before I even knew you. Throughout the whole time we've been together I've been faithful.
Cali: oh please-
Jay: leave me and my friends alone, please.
He walked back to the table and sat down. I went back to the table to get my bag.
Savannah looked up at me. Once our eyes met she quickly looked away. "Whatever" I said under my breath. I walked away and searched the cafeteria for an empty table. There was one across the room where literally no once sits at. I walked over and sat down by myself fighting back tears. I had my head down for a good 8 minutes when I felt people sit beside me. I looked up and it was gray, Samantha, and Savannah. We sat there and talked.
Samantha: it was nice when I didn't know you guys.
We all looked at Savannah confused.
Cali: well fuck you too then *i crossed my arms*
Samantha: no, not like that. I just feel like there's always so much drama.
Savannah: yeah, me and Cali used to be so close, we still kinda are but things have changed.
Gray: ok but...what about all the fun times we all had together? Huh *he smirked*
Samantha: oh you mean like when y'all left me stranded in the woods?
*we all laughed*
Savannah: how about when we went to our first party together. Fun.
Gray: fun, but hectic.
Cali: yeah.
Savannah: you should go talk to jay.
Samantha: ew no, talk to Chance. If you don't then I will.
Cali: yeah but me and jay practically just broke up he's not gonna wanna talk to me.
*the bell rang*
Everyone was exciting the cafeteria. Gray was the last one to leave the table he tapped my shoulder before leaving and said "you'll never know until you try".
After lunch I had gym. I walked into the room and nobody was there besides Vivian who was grabbing her bag. I walked up to her and tapped her shoulder.
Cali: excuse me. Uh- where is everyone.
She looked me up and down before answering. "Outside".
I walked out to the field and looked around, I didn't see jay anywhere. I even asked mr Franco. "Is jay here" I asked. "Uh no. He went to the restroom". Mr Franco replied.
I walked back into the gym and called jay. "Please pick up" I said to myself pacing around the gym.
After about 3 tries he finally answered.
Jay: I should block you huh?
Cali: can we talk?
*he paused for a few*
Jay: there's nothing to talk about
Cali: no actually, there is. And I know you're tired of hearing this but I'm sorry.
Jay: bye-
Cali: no, the only reason I kissed him was because I felt like you didn't want me. We've never been serious.
Jay: yes we have.
Cali: we haven't and you know it too. I promise it didn't go any further then that.
Jay: I need time to think.
Cali: fine. Can I at least talk to you.
Jay: you are.
Cali: face to face.
Jay: art room.
I hung up the phone and walked toward the abandoned art room. Jay was standing by the window on his phone. I walked closer to him, he put his phone down, looked up at me and smiled.
