"Of course," Gayle hummed, her usual stoic expression luckily not visual to the news reporter. She tapped the blue pen in her fingers rhythmically, her bare abs brushing against her desk.
"So, you started your foundation because of your girlfriend, correct?"
"Mhm. She was getting chased one night, and I took her into my house until the morning. When she left I checked my security cameras, found out who the person following her was, and got them arrested," she explained.
"Interesting. So how does everything over there work?"
"We do just what I did, but with a little more help. Whenever someone reports being stalked, harassed, or anything else of the sorts, we search nearby security cameras, talk to locals, stuff of that sorts. Basically the police but we do our job much quicker and more efficiently."
"And why don't you leave this all to the police?"
Gayle sighed, her eyes becoming dark as she twirled in her chair a little. "I've experienced how this kind of stuff can effect someone, firsthand. My girl still has nightmares. Sure, those type of crimes are low and still getting lower, but there are still sickos like that out there. And until everyone of them are in jail and people can walk the streets in peace, I'm doing what I can."
Arms suddenly slithered around Gayle's shoulders, and a head rested on her shoulder. The person stayed still until the phone conversation came to a close, the reporter thanking her once again before hanging up. "If I have to explain that to one more reporter— why don't they just read each other's articles?"
"It is getting your hard work out there," Romelle reminded, pecking her cheek. Gayle quickly returned the kiss, purposefully missing her cheek in order to hit her lips. "We're almost out of puppy kibble, by the way."
"Our hard work," she mumbled in return, "and we have to go grocery shopping anyways."
"What about our double date with Shiro and Adam?" The Altean frowned with a playful whine. The human sat still for a moment, before jumping up and scooping her significant other into her arms.
"Guess we'll have to hurry then!"
The two left the house in giggles, walking to the same bus stop they had said goodbye at.
