Up on the tree

Finn's POV

If Jake hadn't called us in I probably would've made a move. The way she looked at me, it was intoxicating. I could have stayed that way forever.

After we had dinner , Jake suggested that we should watch a movie. (Y/n) seemed pretty excited because she was saying how she had never really seen one. I guess that makes sense since she did spend her life on the run.

While Jake was setting everything up, I noticed (y/n) sitting by a window and looking up at the night sky.

"It's so pretty," she sighed as I walked towards her.

"You know, if you want," she tuned to look at me. "I know where you can get an even better view,"
Her eyes shone as I held out my hand for her to take.

She hesitated but softly placed her hand in mine. It was so small compared to mine. I tightened my grip on her and pulled her up so she was standing.

"This way," I spoke with a smile.
She is going to love this!

I helped her up the ladders and through the doors. We made it to the last floor of the tree house and I helped her up the ladder to the roof. She slowly climbed up and I followed.

She stood on the roof with her head up high as she gazed at the open stars. I got up with her and shut the hatch behind me. I walked up to her then sat down.

"You like it?"

"Yes," she spoke in such a soft voice that if you hadn't been listening you would've missed. She sat down next to me but continued to gaze

"You know, I used to sleep under the stars every night. I would always gaze at them but it was never like this. This time it just feels different,"

"A-a good different?" I questioned.

She turned to me and smiled. "A very good different,"

We went silent and stared at each other. I could feel my face heat up but I hoped because it was dark, she wouldn't notice.

This is it! This is the chance for me to make my move.

I slid my hand onto hers before slowly inching forward. Her eyes widened as she caught on to what was happening. I kept getting closer before stopping just a tiny bit away from her face. It was a few seconds before she closed the distance and our lips connected. It was a short kiss but it felt like magic. We parted but the feeling lingered for a little bit.

"F-Finn,"

"(Y/n), I-I think I like like you. When I first saw you, I knew I had to get to know you. Then when we found out you were human..it was incredible! It was like the universe was telling me something," I interlocked our fingers and continued. "D-do you feel the same?"

I held my breath as I waited for her reply.

"Finn, I haven't known you for that long-"

"Oh," my face dropped and I pulled my hand away. I can't believe I was this stupid. I should know better than to fall for someone this quickly.

"Finn wait. Let me finish," she signed and continued. "I haven't know you for that long, BUT, I sorta feel the same way. Your smile and your charm, I was rude at first because I didn't want to accept that I...I like you too,"

Your POV

Once you had told him, he gave you one of his charming smiles. It was easy to tell that you were both blushing messes. This was the first time you had told anyone how you felt, and now you had done it you didn't know what was gonna happen next. You both went quiet and just like earlier, Jake came and ruined the moment.

"Hey guys! Movies all ready!," he spoke.

"A-awesome," you spoke then got up and brushed past him, went back down into the house before anyone else. You struggled a bit to get down but managed. As you walked, you past the window and stopped to look at your reflection. Your cheeks were pink and your hair hung messily above your shoulders.
Did this all really happen? Finn admitted he likes me, and I said it back. This is all so new.

"(Y/n)? Are you here?"
Finn's voice broke up your thoughts.
"We're gonna start the movie,"

"O-oh Okay, coming,"
You pushed your hair behind your ear and walked into the room they were in. BMO sat on a table with Jake and Finn on the couch waiting. Finn saw you walk in and moved over so there was room next to him. Rubbing your arm, you sat next to him, but left a little room. He looked over to you and smiled.

"Alright! Let's get this started!" Jake enthusiastically said. BMO began playing the movie and the title came up.

"Dead mans lake?" You questioned.

"Oh yeah! It's a great horror movie! It about this lake that's haunted cause some guy drowned in it, and now whenever people stay in the lake's cabin the guy comes back and tried to kill them," Finn stated while fist bumping he air.

"Gee, sounds....delightful," you answered back.

As the movies continued, you noticed Finn slowly scooting closer and closer towards you. It was only when a jump scare made you jump that you noticed he was right next to you. A few more minutes in and he had his arm over your shoulders.

As the movie continued, you got less and less awkward. You began getting a little drowsy and leaned your head on his shoulder. He tightened his grip on you and placed his head on top of yours. As you were about to drift away, you felt him place a small kiss your temple and whisper a soft goodnight.

Before you knew it, you were fast asleep.
