Owen's POV

I was walking around the outside of the Raptor Paddock trying to find my seventeen year old daughter Phoenix, "hey Barry have you seen Phoenix anywhere?" I asked my friend "the last time I saw her she was heading into the Paddock to do some training with Blue and the other Raptor's". As soon as he said that I ran to the platform at the top of the Raptor Paddock to see if I could find her, because if Claire show's up and see's her in there she will flip. When I saw her I called out to her, "Phoenix Ember Faith Grady, what do you think your doing!" She just smirked at me and said "hangin' with Blue, Echo, Charlie and Delta, what else would I be doing?" "Phoenix your mother wants to see you at the park in 10 minutes," "okay dad I will be done with the Raptor's soon," she then went back to playing with Blue, Delta, Echo and Charlie, but the interesting bit is it looks like Phoenix is communicating with Blue because she's making the same noise's that a Raptor makes.

She's not shy around the dinosaurs or Barry, me and her mother along with Simon Masrani and Claire's assistant Zara but when she's around everyone else she can be shy but when it comes to her protecting the Raptor's she will be sassy and sarcastic.

When she came out of the Raptor Paddock she said, "I'm borrowing your motorbike to get to the park, thanks," and with that she gave me a hug and ran off.

Phoenix's POV

As I was heading to the park I was thinking what could my mother want, but if it has anything to do with my cousins that are meant to be coming to the park I don't want to be apart of it because I'm not a people person.

Well I was right it has something to do with my cousins I have been told by my mother that I have to take them to see the Raptors "what do I do with them afterwards?" I asked "send them back here and I know you hate people but you can be with the Raptors okay and I love you," "love you too mum," this is just great. "So where are we going to?" Zach who is the same age as me asked, "we're going to where I work and if I were you I would not tick my dad off," I said which made both Gray and Zach gulp.

When we got to the Raptor enclosure Gray was talking about how fast Raptors are, before asking me, "what are those markings going from your eyes to your neck?" "It doesn't stop at my neck and I was born with these red markings," I told them until it clicked in that I didn't fix the makeup that was supposed to hide it.

When we got to the walk way above the paddock I saw my Dad on the platform with his clicker, so he could train the Raptors. I then dragged my two idiotic cousins up to a part of the walkway, as I instructed them to be quiet and wait at the side of the platform.

Watching as dad was trying to get Blue's attention, I helped him a little by calling out to him, which resulted in him looking up at me which made me smile, "thanks kiddo," "your welcome dad," and he went back to training them. When dad finished training them, I trailed behind him after I told my cousins that they could go back to the park. Just to hear a guy call out to my dad. I think his name was Hoskins, anyway he ended up saying, "Owen. I was starting to think I hired the wrong guys, but, damn, you got them eating out of your palm" dad glanced at both Barry and myself before turning back to Hoskins as he said, "you came on a good day. It's not usually a happy ending," "is that why you're not sending in your reports?" "We've been busy," Barry ended up commenting, "not too busy to cash your paychecks," Hoskins then pretended to punch both my father and his friend, which I had to roll my eyes at. This man is an overgrown child. "What do you need, buddy?" Dad asked "a field test," a what now? I looked at Barry before following after dad as Hoskins continued to say, "hey. I've just seen they can respond to commands. We need to take the research and get it on its feet," I wanted to throw Hoskins into the paddock and let the Raptors eat him as dad said, "these are wild animals, Hoskins. Trust me, you DON'T want them in the field," "I just saw a bond. A real bond. Between man and beast" Hoskins then stood in front of dad and I looked down to see Blue looking at me as he made a chittering noise, while I turned my attention back to dad and Hoskins as dad said, "you're in my way," I then snuck past them and over to Barry to see what we were getting for the Raptors. Hoskins just wasn't going to quit as he persisted, "come on. We're the same. We're dogs of war. We know that the military needs to reduce casualties. Some people think that robots are the future. Look, nature gave us the most effective killing machines 75 million years ago. And now we know they can take orders," I now stood beside my dad with Barry on the other side as he asked, "we finally make progress and that's the first thing he says? Make a weapon?" I nodded before walking away as Hoskins said rather exasperatedly, "shit. Come on, gents. It's grown-up time. Drones can't search tunnels and caves. And they're hackable. The minute a real war breaks out, all that fancy tech is gonna go dark" I rolled my eyes as I called behind me, "but that tech's not gonna eat them if they forget to feed it," Hoskins then said, "look at these creatures. (points to the Raptors) They've got millions of years of instinct in their cells, instinct that we can program. Their loyalty cannot be bought. These guys are gonna run straight into the enemy's teeth and eat them, belt buckle and all," I turned to face Blue as he was already looking up as us, but he turned his attention to me as he made a curious noise and I shrugged as I continued to walk.
