When I woke up this morning, I thought it was going to be like every other day. Spending time with the Raptors, joking around with Barry and my father, along with visiting my mother.
Shaking her head in hopes that the ringing would stop. Phoenix looked around to see if she could spot any of the Raptors, only to spot Echo, whom was hidden in amongst the long grass. Being wary of her surroundings the fire like marked Raptor made her way over to the hidden Raptor quietly, in hopes of not attracting any unwanted attention.
"Echo? You okay?" She questioned quietly, the younger Raptor jumped slightly startled, before smiling, "I'm okay, you?" The Hybrid only nodded as she caught the scent of blood coming from Echo, but refused to address it as the scent on the young Raptor was only weak. The two Raptors quickly whipped their heads in the direction to sounds of gun fire and the screaming of Ingen men. Which elected low growls out of the pair, as an urge to protect and hunt kicked into them both, especially when they heard the roars of the other Raptors.
If only I knew what I know now.
Owen Grady was on high alert as he quietly walked in amongst the tall grass, listening for any indicators of where the Raptor siblings were along with his hybrid daughter. Not knowing that in that moment his daughter was succumbing to her instincts as she hunted the foul men along side the Raptor siblings.
I never understood what my dad had meant when I was little, that pain can come in all sorts of ways.
Claire was horrified as she watched on the tablet the people that were being massacred by the Raptors and her daughter. Only for that fear to also turn into worry for both Owen and her daughters safety. As much as the red-headed woman would've liked to take her eyes off the screen, she couldn't as she watched from a camera on one of the Raptors, Phoenix pouncing at a man who had aimed to shoot the other Raptor, as he screamed in pain at the feeling of the Hybrid Raptors claws tearing into his flesh. Claire continued to watch as the feisty female held no remorse as she tore into him, before looking up at the other Raptor making a chittering noise before both Raptors took off in different directions. Continuing their hunt.
Only to figure it out as I grew older. I knew that life didn't pick favorites and that it was cruel.
Iron was all Phoenix could taste as crimson droplets fell from her claws and teeth as she removed her maw from the throat of her prey. Only to startle when Delta showed up next to her. "At least we're getting payback for what they did to you," the Hybrid rolled her eyes slightly at what the fierce and temperamental Raptor said. "Don't act like this has nothing to do with the fact that you also want a chance at payback. For all the times you and the others have been tranquilized along with shocked," the protective Raptor retorted, which caused the other to laugh, "damn, I thought I hid my intentions perfectly," shaking her head Phoenix gave an amused smile before going back to ambushing humans that weren't her father and Barry. Who threatened her pack.
The Raptors were always my main source of comfort and safety when my parents weren't around, or were busy.
As two men in tactical gear held their guns up, finger on the trigger, ready to shoot at anything that seemed it could be a danger, looking around cautiously. If only they knew what was about to happen. As two Raptors on opposite sides of the men were watching and waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
When the men went to share a glance at each other, the two Raptors pounced while sinking their teeth into the humans flesh as the people screamed in pain before they went silent. As the Raptor siblings looked at each other. "This is fun," Echo told her eldest sibling, which caused him to shake his head in amusement. "I knew I had a couple of homicidal siblings, but I didn't expect that from you, Echo," the stone grey with a metallic blue stripe Raptor told his little sister with amusement laced in his voice, which got a laugh out of her as she retorted, "at least I ain't as bad as Delta in that department," Blue just nodded, "good, I want you to stay the way you are for as long as possible," Echo just smiled at her big brother before giving him an affectionate bump with her head, which he returned as the two siblings went separate ways.
