Everyone else had finished their jobs, gotten to do other stuff, and were already in bed by the time that Keith and Pidge had made a dent in the paperwork.
They had barely talked at all, but Keith was pretty sure that Pidge's 'love language' was quality time so that was okay with him.
The entire time he just sat on the step in front of her, both of them on the floor filling out an reading the paperwork, then filing them.
"Keith you can go, I can get it from here," Pidge said still doing the paperwork.
"And why would I do that?" Keith asked, resting his cheek on his hands. Pidge looked up and raised an eyebrow.
"So you can get some rest?"
"And leave you out here alone, not a chance," Keith said, going back to work.
"Keith, don't be stupid. You need your rest," Pidge said. Keith locked eyes with her and smiled.
"I'm not the sharpest spoons in the drawer," Keith said.
"Spoons aren't sharp," Pidge said. An idea popped into Keith's head. I know a way to for us to find out for sure. Keith replied to Pidge in his head. Yeah, no. Not in a million years. That is a terrible thought.
"That's the point," Keith said instead.
"No, that's not, spoons don't have points," Pidge said. Keith looked at her and she smiled her goofy smile. Keith smiled back.
"Unless you make a sport of them," Keith said. Pidge burst out laughing causing Keith to start laughing too.
"How do you make a sport out spoons!?" Pidge laughed.
"I don't know but if you did then spoons could get points!" Keith said. "Maybe if we finish we can make our own sport,"
"Really?!" Pidge said, calming down.
"I mean sure! Why not, you're fun to hang out with," Keith said. Pidge lightly blushed and looked down at the paperwork.
"Thanks," Pidge said coyly.
"Yeah," Keith said. They began working again and got 3/4 the way through this time, as they were working faster.
Pidge was super confused. Keith was acting weird. One he kept trying to help her, two he was trying to make her laugh. Was this flirting? No, flirting was just cheesy pick-up lines, right?
Keith was running out of time and he knew it. So he went to his last resort, a pick-up line.
"Hey, Pidge?" Keith asked.
"Yeah?"
"Did you know that according to Newton's Law we are attracted to each other," Keith said. Pidge blushed then playfully hit the back of his head. "Hey, it's not my fault you can't argue with the law,"
"Stop," Pidge laughed. "Wait, are you flirting with me?"
"...yeah..." Keith said. he laid down so that his head was on Pidge lap. "Is it working?" Keith smiled. Pidge blushed, looking down on him.
"You know why you're not a stormtrooper?" Pidge said. Keith's smile turned into confusion.
"Why?"
"Because you didn't miss your target," Pidge said ruffling his hair. Keith giddily grinned.
"Maybe you're the droid I have been looking for," Keith said.
"Let's finish up real quick," Pidge said.
"Okay, my little Rae of sunshine," Keith said sitting up.
"Could you stop taking my breathe away, I kind of need it," Pidge said. Keith chuckled. The finished up, then just laid on the floor looking up at the stars.
"I hate every letter of the alphabet," Keith said after a while, "But I love U,"
"I prefer the letters U and I," Pidge said.
"Smooth," Keith said. "Will you be my girlfrien?"
"Yes, but didn't you mean girlfriend?" Pidge asked.
"No, I left out the 'D' on purpose, I don't want Shiro to kill me," Keith said. Pidge sat up when she realized what he met and lightly hit him.
"Keith!"
"What?!" Keith laughed. Keith sat down next to her. "You know maybe Lance was going somewhere with those pick-up lines,"
"Sure they work," Pidge said. "But you just being nice and spending time with you worked too," Keith chuckled and he put his arm around her and leaned on her shoulder.
"I feel like a superhero," Keith said.
"What's your name then?" Pidge asked.
"Yourman," Keith said, making Pidge's breath hitch.
