Two roads converge and neither moves forward. We're stuck an impasse can this last now?

When you stay up, I'm crashing down ...

The halls of my department were blasting with Against The Current's Guessing, forcefully making me lose my concentration on hiding. Can you blame me if this song is my jam? I need to sing my heart to this.

A few students also stopped with what their doing, or at least had half of their attention to the music while others just walked on by not caring that a totally awesome song was being given to them on a stressful  day like this.

"Hello Aveline." I heard Lydia giggle behind me when I finished my awkward bridge solo plus horrible adlibs.

She had her hand intwined with Vincent's. Vincent on the other hand was looking quite amused.

"So, did you enjoy last night's festivities?" He asked, completely oblivious that that subject is completely taboo for me. As if he said a magic word, something came dawning over me.

"YOU!" I screamed like a banshee and tackled down Vincent, almost taking Lydia with us. He was surely surprised by my attack because he didn't had enough time to block the punch that headed straight for his face. Lydia tried pulling us apart but I didn't let her. Her boyfriend was not getting any mercy from me.

"What the hell has gotten into you!?" He asked when he got hold of both my arms and Lydia got me off of him. He was looking at me like I suddenly grew a second head. Was it really surprising that I would punch him after what I went through last night because of his idiotic curiousity?

Hell no!

"Nothing. I just wanted to pay back all the bad things that happened to me because of you!" I hissed. I thought we attracted a crowd but everyone was busy with their own business that nobody even gave us a glance. Exam times really take away your ability to notice things until they are over.

"What happened yesterday Ave?" Lydia calmly asked. When she saw that I wasn't going to claw Vincent's eyes out she let me go and told me to take a seat. She said she's got time to  spare before her class starts so she wanted me to talk it out.

"You better get going Vincent. Your chemistry exam is going start in  10 minutes and the Chemistry department is 2 streets down." Vincent seemed to realize that as much as he wants to be a part of this heart to heart talk, his grades shouldn't drop.

He ran and said that he needs to know all the details later. I don't know if he was being a nice friend or just a huge gossiping manipulator. I bet my money on the second part.

"So, Aveline De la Cruz, tell old Auntie Lydia what happened?" I  couldn't help but crack a smile when she said that. Acting like an old, yet highly reliable, relative.

"Well," I started. "It happened when both of you suddenly disappeared from my side."

I told her about the guards, the lovely but quick conversation with my Golden Boy, the chase, the tree, the almost falling to my doom and the most important one, the kiss. From the beginning of my story, Lydia didn't stop me and just listened. She was being a good friend and just nodding once in a while to show she was still listening to me.

And then came the other important part that added to my fury earlier.

"I was in shock and when my senses recovered I couldn't quite register to myself that I kissed one of the most popular boys in this University. And because of that I wasn't thinking fully and ..."
