Chapter 16: First Date

"I..i.. like her" i stare at him shocked at what i just heard. "You don't hurt people you like Dave" i turn to see Kate and she gasps as if just realising something. "Jake i hurt you, will you forgive me?" Kate asks. "Of course i will" i reply. She smiles and kisses me on the cheek for the first time and i pull her into a hug.

Kate:

Later on that day me and Ellie are on the

phone

Ellie: "So how are you and Jake?"

Me: "uh were fine but we haven't kissed yet"

Ellie: "When the time is right it will happen"

Me: "Maybe this is my fault? I'm really awkward around him"

Ellie: "Oh please he literally melts in front of you"

Me: "I'm going to go do homework now bye"

Ellie: "Ok bye and stop worrying so much"

- end of call-

After that i lay in bed just thinking about Jake, i honestly don't know about guys and crush's and boyfriends they hurt too much. But he saved me before i jumped over the edge.

Jake:

I have been planning our first date since the day i decided to ask her out, i don't know what she'll think but i really hope she likes it. The date is planned for the 18th of November which is on a Saturday(today is the 10th) i think i'll pick her up for ice-cream and a movie if she wants to tell her about it. After i saw what Kate went through all i want is for her to be happy and well free to be herself. I fall myself slipping into sleep and the next thing i know is its morning, i take a quick shower, get dressed and head downstairs to see my mum at the dining table. ''Goodmorning mum" i say "oh goodmorning Jake is something wrong you sound nervous?" she asks. "Uh yeah I'm scared to tell Kate about the date" i reply sighing as i sit down. "Don't worry she'll love it" she replies placing an arm on my shoulder.

We parked in the driveway and i got out to go get Kate. I ring the doorbell and wait until someone opens the door. "Hi Mrs Anderson" i say "Hey Jake come in" she replies giving me a small smile and opening the door wider. I follow her to the living room. "Take a seat while i call Kate" she says "Okay thank you" i reply.

Kate comes down half an hour looking beautiful. "Wow you look stunning" i say trying to control my breathing. She giggles as she bends over to kiss my cheek and than pull my into a hug. "Did you want to go out to get ice-cream and then maybe watch a movie?" i ask. "Yeah sure" she replies, Kate pulls away and walks to the kitchen probably to tell her mum. She grabs my hand and we head out the door.

Kate:

Jake quickly runs to the door, opens it, waits for me to go in and slides in next to me in the back seat. "So Kate how have you been?" Mrs Anderson asks. "I've been alright Karen, what about you?" i reply. "Hmm yeah same i guess and thats great to hear" she says. When we get there "Karen parks the car, bye kids" she says. "Bye" we say at the same time and i feel my face flush.

You need a special dress and some shoes and whatever other things girls need. "For what?" i ask as i gulp another spoonful of ice-cream. "Were going on our first date and i want it to be really special for you" he replies. I freeze in shock with my spoon in mid-air. Jake looks at me and then looks away, 'great way to make a situation more awkwarder Kate'. It's finally sinking in "omg I'm so excited where are we going?" i manage to say. "It's a surprise" he answers, "but i hate surprises" i whine. "You'll just have to wait" he says looking at me with a cheeky grin on his face.

He takes my hand and drags me to Forever New. "Now pick a dress anyone you like" Jake says gesturing to all the dresses "and I'm paying" he adds. So i end up buying a peach coloured dress with silver sequins and some silver shoes. "So what movie would you like to watch?" Jake asks holding my hand and leading me towards the cinemas. We buy popcorn and drinks than head in to watch 'If I Stay'.

The movie was great but by the end i was crying my eyes out and Jake had to hug me tightly to his chest. When we were heading out i got a text hey beautiful i can see you it says, "stupid Dave" i spit and Jake pulls away looking at me curiously. I show him the text "i swear i'll kill him one day" he says and i chuckle "i'll help you?" i offer jokingly. I turn and see Dave sitting near the fountain staring at him. Jake turns in the direction I'm looking and walks over to him and pushes him into the water he than grabs my hand and we rush out. I burst out laughing when we head outside "Jake that was... so funny" i say between giggles. 

"I love it when you smile" he says pulling me into a hug, his mum picks us up and we head to his house. I lay on his bed so "Kate no ones been annoying you lately?" he asks staring into my eyes. I sit up and bite my lip, he bends over to kiss me. OMG I'm getting my first kiss i think as his face inches closer.
