Broken - Chapter 6

(Kaylie's POV)

I wasn't sure if I heard her right.

"What?" 

"I'm going to see Alex tonight."

I definitely heard her right.

"Why are you going to see him?"

"He text me yesterday saying he has something we may be interested in. Don't worry Dean's going with me."

I relaxed at the idea she wouldn't be alone.

"Just be careful Ajae. I know he said he's changed but honestly you haven't seen him for years. I just don't want you to get hurt."

"I'll be fine Kaylie." She smiled at me. "Thanks for being understanding about this." 

"What are friends for" I smiled at her and gave her a hug. She walked back into the study and closed the door behind her. My mind was racing at the fact she was going to meet him. There was no way I was as trusting as Ajae, but I guess the fact the Dean is with her, means she'll be safe. I knew for a fact that I wouldn't be getting any sleep til she gets back. I grabbed two beers from the fridge and went back outside. Liam and Dean were stood talking, while Sam and Bobby were busy in the garage. I walked over to Liam and handed him a beer, which he took and smiled at me.

"Kaylie, do you have any idea why Sam is being so cold to Ajae all of a sudden?" Liam asked after drinking his beer. My mind instantly went to Alex. Did Sam know about that? Dean did so why not Sam. I knew Ajae didn't want anyone to know.

"No idea." I downed my beer and took my back my seat on the nearby car hood. 

"I'm gonna go find her and ask myself." Liam drank the rest of his beer and left to go find her. When he was out of earshot, Dean moved closer to me.

"Guess she told you then?" I knew what he was on about.

"Yeah, she told me not to tell anyone, so I didn't." I shrugged then looked at him. "Keep her safe tonight, there is no way in hell I trust that guy, but I do trust you. Promise me if anything happens, you'll get her out of there." 

"I promise Kaylie." He held out his pinky and I laughed, but still locked pinkys with him. We stayed outside for a bit and I started to see past the facade Dean put up and I realized why Ajae fell for him. Even though he can be an idiot sometime, when it comes to Ajae he's really caring and it's obvious he loves her. Especially with this Alex thing, Sam went off at her, but Dean understood and is making sure she is safe when she goes to see him. I hope them two do get together, because it would be a whole lot easier for everyone who could tell they loved each other. She deserved to be happy and I know Dean can give her that.

(Liam's POV)

I walked away from Dean and Kaylie to go and find Ajae. Walking through the kitchen, I saw her sat on the sofa in the study with her laptop on her knee. She looked up at me and smiled, which I returned and sat next to her. She closed the laptop lid and looked at me again.

"Ajae, I have to ask. Why is Sam giving you a cold shoulder?" She sighed when I asked. She must have been trying to think of an excuse other than the truth, but she knows she can't lie to me.

"I'm back in contact with Alex and before you say anything, I know what he did but he's changed. He's a 'vegetarian' now and has been helping others like him to become 'vegetarian'." She rushed, but I heard every word.

"I'm guessing Sam isn't okay with this then." She shook her head.

"No he practically screamed at me and implied I was stupid for forgiving him." She folded her arms across her chest and laid back.
