Broken - Chapter 9

(Dean's POV)

"No, I don't like it. No, it's not happening." Liam slammed his fist down at the idea of using the girls as bait.

"It's the only plan we have. Lucifer wants us. He'll come after us." Ajae comented and Liam disagreed again.

"I have to admit I am not keen on the idea either, but Ajae's right. It's the only plan we have that will work." Bobby added and Sam glared at him along with Liam.

"It's not happening and that is final." Liam shouted and stormed off. Kaylie sighed and watched him go. I could tell she wanted to follow him, but we all know it's best to let him cool off.

"It's settled then. We go with this plan. Now I must be off." Castiel stated before disappearing. Everyone dispersed from the study afterwards. Ajae and Bobby were sat discussing family business I'm guessing, so I had the lovely company of my brother. We were sat on the back porch drinking beer.

"Why?" He asked quietly after a while.

"Why what?" I had no idea what he was talking about.

"Why did you sleep with Ajae?" His sounded hurt.

Shit.

"You know why."

"You said you didn't love her anymore."

"I lied." I took a sip of my beer and looked at him.

"You got further with her than I did. Congradulations." He sarcastically raised his beer and I glared at him.

"Don't talk about her like that. She's not some contest or prize. She's a human being who I love." I spat, causing him to clench his fists.

"Oh please. You don't love her. You've treat her like crap ever since Cassidy died."

"I know I did and I regret every time I hurt her. I just. I thought it was better to push her away and not love her, than to love her and lose her like we all lost Cassidy."

"Wow, that's bullshit. You only think of yourself. No one else." He faced me properly.

"Really, so what have you been doing this past weel or two. You've completley ignores Ajae and you've treat her like she's a peice of shit." I tried to control my anger but I failed.

"I only treat her like that, because of the choices she's made!"

"Like what?"

"Alex and you! She should be with me, not you. She loved me not you!"

"DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME WHO I LOVE AND WHO I DON'T!" Ajae's voice boomed from behind me.

I turned to see her hands clenched by her side and tears begining to run down her face.

"Ajae.." Same tried, but Ajae cut him off.

"Sam, don't I've heard enough from you to last a life time." She stated and simply walked away. I didn't bother looking back at Sam to know his face showed his guilt. Quickly, I ran after Ajae and found her stood against a wall, trying to stop the tears. I wrapped my arms round her and let her cry into my shoulder.

"It's okay. Shhhh. I'm here." I tried to calm her.

"Why is he acting like that? What did I do to him?" She lifted her head up to look at me.

"I think it's mainly because he spent two years looking for you, when I beleived you were dead. Then when you came back, you chose me. He's hurting and anger is how he's chosing to show it." I had to be honest with her. She smiled sadly at me.

"I didn't plan on chosing anyone, but I'm glad I chose you." She put her head on my chest and smiled against me.

"I'm glad you chose me too."

"Dean, I have to ask you something." She spoke after we had sat on a nearby bench. She had her legs on my legs and we were facing each other.

"Sure, what is it?"

"Why did you act so cold towards me after Cassidy? I need to know." She looked down at her hands and then back up at me.

"I'm guessing you missed that part of mine and Sam's arguement. Well after we lost Cassidy, I couldn't lose anyone else, especially you. I thought it would be easier for me to push you away and have you hate me, rather than for me to love you and end up losing you."

"I could never hate you Dean." She smiled at me and rested her head on my shoulder. We stayed like that til the sky became black and the stars shined high above. Ajae shivered next to me, so I decided it was time to go inside. When we walked in, Kaylie and Liam were making dinner and Bobby was sat at the table, talking to them. He smiled when we walked in and we sat down with him.

"What you cooking?" Ajae asked. Kaylie stopped to come and talk to us.

"Homemade garlic bread and pizza." She smiled and sat on the edge of the table.

"Sounds delicious." I commented and smiled at her.

She sat and talked with us for a bit before Liam needed her help with the food. It wasn't long before we were sat around the table eating Kaylie's amazing food, minus Sam.

"Where is Sam?" I asked.

"He left a while ago. Said he was going to the bar and needed to relax." Liam replied with a mouthful of pizza. I just shrugged in acknowledgement.

"Dude, close your mouth when you're eating." Kaylie playfully scolded him from across the table. Liam just finsihed his food and stook his tongue out at her, causing Kaylie to roll her eyes.

When we were done eating, Ajae and Kaylie cleared the table and did the washign up, while us men talked about man stuff.

"So you and Ajae huh?" Liam asked, raising his eyebrows at me.

"Yeah." I smiled at the thought of me and Ajae.

"Awesome." He replied and went back to drinking his beer. I saw Ajae gazing at me from the sink and I gave her a seductive smile and she giggled. When she finished cleaning up, she said goodnight to us and went upstairs to bed.

A few minutes later, I got a text from her.
