That Skating Nerd

this is honestly one of my favorite interpretations of human Peridot, and I'm not sure why...

>Lapis's POV<

Monday. I force myself to sit up and rub my eyes from a minute. I hate mornings. I got up out of my bed and trudged into the bathroom, I looked at myself in the mirror. All I got in return was an ugly and tired creature starring back at me. I groaned and turned on the water for my shower, I waited for the water to get hot as I pulled off my clothes, I was starting to wake up slightly as I hopped into the shower. I close my eyes as hot water runs down my head,neck,shoulders, and back. I loved the feeling, however I had to quickly finish my shower. I sighed as I turned off the water. I stepped out of the shower to dry off.
•small time skip•
Lapis hurried out the door and ran down the street with her backpack in hand. I had 20 minutes to get to school before I could be considered late. I finally arrived at the school with 10 minutes to spare, not long but long enough to run to my locker and upstairs to my first class. Running to my locker I saw someone struggling to open their locker, the locker happening to be 2 down from mine. The person had fluffy blonde hair running up threw the middle of their head and shaved down on both sides. She wore a gray sleeveless hoodie with an alien on it and black skinny jeans, along with gray and green sleeves that went from her elbow to her wrist looping around her thumbs. She let out a frustrated grunt as she failed to open the locker again.
"Need any help?" I asked closing my locker.
The girl turned towards me, her eyes caught me off guard. They were... beautiful. I shook my head.
"Please?" The girl asks sweetly with a small embarrassed smile on her face. I nod walking to her locker. I turned towards her.
"What's the combo?" I asked and she jumped.
"Oh.. umm. 19-43-05." She states. I smile turning the nod to its numbers, opening it.
"Here ya go." I smile turning back around to the girl.
"Thanks you!" She smiled softly at me, it was then I saw the skateboard in her hand, I've always wanted to learn how to skateboard but never did. I nod my head.
"Well I better get going." I said walking off. Making half way down the hall I realized I forgot to ask her name, I'm so fucking stupid. Oh well. Something in my gut tells me I'll be seeing her a lot more.
I walked into class sitting next to Amethyst.
"Hey Ames." I wave.
"Sup dude." She smiled at me, the bell rang shutting us both up. I tapped my pencil on the desk quietly. The teacher was about to speak when the door opened, and in walked that girl. The one with pretty eyes. I noticed some people glared at her while the rest of the class either didn't care or seemed happy to see her. She walked up to the teacher handing her a paper.
"Sorry ma'am, my schedule got changed and I didn't know till now." She chuckled awkwardly. The teacher nodded speaking to the girl, though I couldn't hear what was being said. Suddenly she pointed to me and the girl nodded. I watch her walk down the aisle and take the empty seat behind me. I still need to figure out her name. Something about her just seems... different.

The day continued, however I never found out her name, although I had almost every other class with her since her schedule changed, as I found out. The day was slow, it was maybe because it was Monday, or because I just couldn't stop staring at the girl. She had a heart-stopping smile as I've seen. Her voice played in my head, I've only heard maybe 3 sentences out of her all day. Last period went by slower then ever before, I was never able to talk to the girl, which upset me slightly. Last period ended, finally, I didn't have last period with the girl. I walked outside of the school meeting up with the other, Garnet, Pearl, Steven, and Amethyst. We all walked home together.
Pearl left first since she lived closest to the school.
I wasn't really paying attention to the conversation being made, Garnet left along with Steven considering they live on the same street. It was finally only me and Amethyst walking. We laughed and talked about the day until we heard a sound from behind us. We both turned and there she was. That girl again. She nodded to us with a friendly smile rolling by us on her skateboard. My heart stopped.
"Hey you, whats your name!?" I yelled after her but it was too late. She had skated out of earshot.
Dammit.
I have to learn that girls name.
I will.
