That Skating Nerd

I had just walked into the door of my house, My parents were both at work and wouldn't be home till 6 o'clock. Which meant I had the house to myself for the next 3 hours. I flopped onto the couch throwing my bookbag off to the side. I decided to scroll through Instagram with nothing better to do, nothing much was on there, well aside from the countless meme pages I follow. Amethyst had posted a Picture of her and Pearl, and Pearl had done the same, of the same picture.

"I swear they just need to date already." I mumbled to myself

Garnet posted for the first time in a millennia, It was a picture of her with Steven in the background. Steven, being the youngest of the group, was like a brother to me. I smiled and liked the picture I kept scrolling, that was until I saw her the picture was posted by an acquaintance of mine, Rhodonite, The picture was half of Rhodonites face, you could tell she was laughing, and in the back ground was that girl pointing finger guns at the camera. I clicked the picture for tagged people a tad bit to eager to find out that there is none, I groan and read the caption, looking for a tag there.

"Dork alert XD @ Sk8erDot"

I clicked the tagged account, and groaned in annoyance once I saw it was a private account. I started to read her Bio.

"Peridot O'Neil

18 year old trash can- The Skateboarding Nerd- I don't know what else to put...."

Peridot.... Peridot O'Neil.... I set my phone down and ran a hand through my hair as I fell back onto my bed, I now have a name to go with that face. Should I request to follow her? No, we don't even know each other... Today was the first time I've ever even seen her. I was lost in thought when my phone dinged, I jumped and glared at my phone before picking it up again. It was a message from Steven...

Steven- Hey Lapis, me and Connie were thinking about walking to the mall, Do you think you could tag along since Connie's parents wont let us go without a "Responsible adult". So pllleassee?

I laughed and replied

Lapis- Sure bud, I assume we'll be meeting up at Connie's? I'll be there in 10.

I smiled and grabbed my wallet as well as putting my phone into my pocket, I grabbed my jacket before running out the room and down the stairs. I walked out the door and looked back at my phone, I looked at the app I still had open, I clicked back on Instagram and stared at the at the follow button of the girls page, If I were to click it the button would go from blue to white. She could deny it, and that deep down hurt me. Why? Why would I be upset if she were to do that? She doesn't even know me.. Hell I didn't even know her name till 3 minutes ago! Plus it's just Instagram, it not like she shot me point blank... I huffed and clicked the follow button, the once blue request button was now a white requested button. I turned off my phone and shoved it into my pocket. I walked down the road until I eventually made it to Connie's house, where Steven and Connie both were outside waiting. Steven waved when he saw me, running up to give me a hug.
"Hey Steven." I smiled down at him. Connie soon ran up next to us and smiled to me. I laughed "So you losers ready?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow at the two. Connie nodded, Steven yelled a loud "Yep!" With a pop in the P.
I rolled my eyes at them and started walking with the two towards the mall.

-Time skip-

We had arrived at the mall and I walked around with Steven and Connie for awhile, I eventually let them off to go do their own thing I long as they meet up an hour before Connie's curfew. I walked around the mall for awhile, I've been to all the stores I wanted to go to so now I was just mindlessly wondering. I somehow wondered into Zumiez, I looked around the new environment, they're were many different brands scattered around the store, skateboards decorated the back wall, I looked around some more finding a rack full of hoodie on sale, I found a camouflaged Thrasher hoodie. The thing was originally 45 but with the 50% off discount it was now 25. Plus tax of course. I threw it over my shoulder, before I buy it I'm going to look around some more, I only seen the stuff on the front of the place, I wondered into the back of the room. I stared up at the skateboards spread out all over the wall, I walked sideways as I stared up. I was always told to pay attention to my surroundings but me being me I never listen. I continued walking sideways, that was before I bumped into something... or someone. I immediately snapped my head around to where the person I ran into stood, Little did I expect to see same girl I was "stalking" earlier.

Peridot O'Neil.
