Chapter 19

Quinn's Pov

School was crazy after yesterday's days announcement. It was some crazy typical love story you could say. There was prom decorations all over the walls. Roses being handed to people. It was like this cheesy valentines movie.

I walked to my locker to my surprise Veronica was there. I know we sorta made peace, but I am not totally going to forgive her like that.

"Hi!" She said.

I slightly waved,"Hello."

I walked away from her because I really didn't feel like talking to her. I turned around to see Shawn standing there with a girl in front of him. I couldn't hear what they were saying. I then saw her turn away slightly crying.

I figured that it was about prom. Everyone would be all over him since he was the popular kid. I even think some girl last year asked him to prom.

He was a junior, and she was a senior. He said no of course, but it still boggles me. Our school doesn't have a junior prom. Only senior prom, so I guess you have to make it worth it. You got one shot at it. 

The morning was as usually boring. Lunch came around, and something really strange happened.

"Hey!" Chirped Veronica

"What? Why are you here?" I asked.

"Well since we are friends-"

I interrupted,"Not really."

She chocked up a bit,"Um, well since we are sorta friends? I figured we could sit together."

She scanned the people that sat the our table,"So who are these guys?"

I shrugged,"I don't know. We just happen to eat together. Not go out partying every Friday."

Her facial expression changed to happy to a disgusted confused look. It was easy to tell that she didn't want to be here.

"So where did those other girls go? The ones you hung out with?" I asked.

I saw her body stiffen up, but I kinda wanted that reaction. I asked her that on purpose just to get under her skin.

"After our little incident in the bathroom. They left me." She said.

"Sorry 'bout that." I laughed out. Was I sorry? No, I really wasn't.

She looked angry,"Yea I'll believe it when I hear sincerity in your voice."

That's not going to be anytime soon, I thought.

The rest of lunch we didn't even talk that much, just casual little thing once and a while.

My other afternoon classes went by quickly. I was walking when someone tapped my shoulder.

I looked up to see Cody standing there. Cody was so adorable he was also so sweet.

"Hey." I smiled

"Hi." He flashed a similar smile back.

"So are you going with someone for prom?", I asked.

"Are you asking me to prom?"

"Oh, no. Not at all." Wait, did that sound like I was?

"Oh sorry, but I asked Macee already. Don't worry someone will get you." He said.

See he was sweet, and his nice gesture was so cute. Macee was one lucky girl. At least he wasn't going with anyone that I didn't like.

I waved bye at him then I made my way back to last period.

I sat in my desk quietly. The teacher left the classroom for a second, so everyone began to talk.

Someone tapped on my desk making me jump. I looked up to see Shawn at my desk.

"Hello."

His eyes widened,"Oh hi. You're finally talking to me."

I chuckled,"Well if it makes you feel better I wasn't just not talking to you it was basically everyone else as well."

"Sure that makes me feel a little better." He said with full sarcasm.

I rolled my eyes at him,"So what up?"

"Well I was wandering if that-"

"Mendes back in your seat." the teacher growled.

He walked back to his chair hesitantly.

The whole period consisted of us smiling, and mouthing words to each other. I left the classroom a cherry. Shawn kept making me blush, and I couldn't keep it in.

I drove home thinking about today. I actually had a really good day today.

"Hey there Ms smiles." Cece greeted me.

"You don't the half of it Cece. I just was glowing when I walked out of 8th"

All she did was smiled back at me. I felt my phone buzz. I grabbed it out of my pocket, and saw Shawn had texted me.

He was asking if we should meet up at the park. I agreed to go so I ran up the stair to go quickly change out of my school clothes.

When I got there I saw him already waiting for me.

"Hi there stranger." I teased.

He smiled,"Long time no see."

"So got anything planned for prom?" He asked.

The last thing I want to think about his prom. At least after that embarrassing moment with Cody.

"No I haven't thought about it much. You?" I said.

He blushed,"Well this is this one girl. She's gorgeous really. Her smile is beautiful. Her hair is an interesting color. Lately we have been talking again, and I loved it."

I felt a little jealous when He went on about this girl. I had no clue who she was, but a little part of me wished that it was me actually.

I spaced off a little till he shook me.

"What?" I asked startled.

"You look bored. Are you?"

"No no no, Just tired." I answered.

"Well you should probably get going." He said.

"Yea I should, but thanks for this. It was short, but nice." I added

He hugged me,"Ok well I'll catch you later."

I nodded at him. I feel like I am changing. It's the little things that are helping me, and Shawn was a big part.
