Chapter 31

Tell me anything and everything will be okay.

Mia's phone rang as she hung up from Shaun.

Geez! someone's popular today!

She looked at the caller ID

Uncle John Diviney

she answered it.

"morning chick! hey are you doing anything today?" John spoke in a happy tone.

"nah, i'm free. why?"

"i was wondering if you'd like to go out for lunch. i've hardly spoken to you since you've been here."

"That sounds great!"

"i'm at the hardware at the moment, but meet me at the house at 12?"

"okay i'll see you then!"

"okay see ya chick."

"bye."

She continued on her walk down to the beach. It was a lovely day today but no one was there.

They must all be getting ready for parties or something. Mia thought to herself.

She found a bench that was a little bit away from the sandy beach to sit down on. (she didn't want to get sand in her shoes!)

taking a fairly large breath in and out. she felt relaxed.

Mia took this time to think.. think about everything that was happening. right now.

Things like this don't usaully happen right? well to a girl like me. Maybe i could just talk to him.. but he probably wouldn't understand.

"Mia?" John knocked on the door. "are you ready to go?"

"yeah!" she grabbed her jacket and followed John down the stairs.

John and Mia had arrived at a little coffee shop just out of Budgiewoi.

They took a seat in the corner where the waiter suggeted.

She was thin, short, she had pale skin, deep green eyes and a nose piercing. dressed in the black coffee shop uniform.

"what can I get the two of you?" she asked with a slight smile.

"I'll get.. umm." After a couple of "umm's" and "ahh's" john and Mia ordered their meals and drinks and waited patiently for them.

"Is everything okay?" John asked looking really concerned.

"absoluely! why wouldn't it be?" Mia was a good lier!

"you just look upset. that's all."

The rest of Mia and John's lunch went really well.

As soon as they got home Mia's phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey Mia? it's ah.. Bradie."

"oh. hi Bradie."

"are you busy at the moment?"

"no. i was just about to get ready to come around for the party though. why?"

"can I come around. I need to talk to you."

"hang on i'll just go see if it's alright with Uncle John."

she left her phone on her bed and went down stairs.

This is my chance. i'll talk to Bradie about how i feel and everything will be okay.

"Do you mind if Bradie comes over for a bit?" she asked when she found uncle john getting a can of beer out of the fridge.

"what a silly question! he's welcome here when ever he wants." he laughed.

"Thanks." she hugged him tight then ran back upstairs.

"hey are you still there?" she asked.

"yeah!"

"he said it's alright."

"okay i'll be there in a sec."

Bradie's car pulled up in the driveway about 12 minutes later, Mia went downstairs to let him in.

They both sat down on the edge of her bed.

Mia looked him deep in the eyes.

How could she feel confused about him? he was so gorgeous and easy to love! it must have had something to do with the fact that he was shaun's bestfriend.

"so what did you want to talk to me about?" Mia asked.

"i'm.. ah.. i'm really sorry." he rubbed the back of his neck.

Mia looked at him with big eyes.

"what did you do?" she asked.

"i feel like i've creeped you out.. well i've kind of creeped me out i think maybe we're moving to fast."

Mia's shoulders fell and she sighed in releif.

"i agree." was all she could think of to say.

"where did you go this morning?"

"i needed to come home.. uncle john wanted me home" she trailed off.

"oh okay then.. well i'm glad we got all of that out of the way."

"me to!" she smiled.

Bradie's P.O.V

i wanted to lean in and kiss her right now.. but it didn't feel right.

"so what are you wearing tonight?" i asked her breaking the silence.

"i'm not sure yet!"

My phone buzzed in my pocket.

Andrew Clemmensen

WHERE ARE YOU? you said you'd help with the balloons.

"is that Andy?" Mia asked.

"yeah.. how did you know?"

"I guessed." she winked.

"andy needs me home. but i'll see you soon?"

"okay." she stood up and pulled me off the bed.

Her cold lips moulded with mine, i felt her soft hand holding my cheek.

she pulled away. why? i have no idea.. just when i was starting to really enjoy myself!

"i'll see you soon." she smiled.

"not if i see you first!"

Mia's P.O.V

I watched Bradie leave.

I still felt bad being with him after everything that has happened (with my ex and his accident)
