'Mr. Logan, your flight has been confirmed, will that be all Sir?'
'Yes Clare, thank you. Take the evening off and I will see you when I return in 2-3 weeks'.
'Ok Sir, but promise me one thing?' The voice beckoned.
'Sure anything for you'. He wondered what that could be.
'Have fun. Live a little and please fall in love'. The voice was motherly.
David Logan erupt with laughter that echoed in the large office his colleagues dubbed The Domain.
'I can't promise you that Clare but I will take something back for you.'
'Hmmm ok.' She sounded disappointed.
David hang up the phone. Smiling to himself. 'Fall in love'. He was thinking aloud as another laughter rumbled through him. 'No one does that anymore'.
Clare has been his personal assistant every since he took over the family business from his dad. She had a motherly behaviour towards him that draws him closer to her. She has always been there for him especially when his mother died back home.
He looked forward to seeing her sitting outside his office. Each day, the small frame was always neatly dressed in plain skirt with matching corduroy jacket. David can never recall seeing a strand of silver hair out of place. Her desk was always in order flooded with pictures of her family. Children, grandchild and prayers.
Suddenly his door burst open interupting hid thoughts.
'Man, you better tell me you book them flights. No way am I missing this year's trip to relax because of you'.
'Milton, I did'. David confirmed, still feeling uneasy about another trip to Jamaica. It has been years and he had no intentions to return to the island.
'Yesss'. He air pumped twice. 'Finally. Sun, food and ladies'. He smiled as he rub his hands together mischievously.
David rolled his eyes, 'I cant help to think there maybe another reason behind your interest. I have no idea why this trip is so important that you had to drag me along?'.
Milton sat in a chair, facing his buddy. 'Hmmmmmmm, other than you being a 33 year old, a workaholic, single and childless? - you need to loosen up???'.
David smiled and the dimple imprints were revealed, 'Milton, you are 38 and still single'. David chuckled.
'I know, and that's why I am taking this vacation to go to that singles retreat, I need to settle down man'.
David straighten his tie and stood up, 'I thought singles retreat were for single people to focus on Christ and what they can do for him while they wait? Besides, what about that girl you left couple years back?'
Milton eased back in the chair. His tie felt tight around his neck. He loosen it from around his neck and place it in his pocket.
'It is, but it's also a great time to meet your future spouse. Do you know how many marriages started from a retreat man? You may never know man. Girl? that was years ago man. She probably dead, or married with 5 kids by now'. Milton wasn't sure but his voice sounded hopefull.
'I am hungry, let's grab a bite to eat. You are lucky you're my best bud and that I am due a vacation'.
Milton jeered, 'man, you need a woman and a year off with her.' He got up and felt his belly rumbled.
They both laughed heading towards the door when it opened.
In walked the company's newest Personal assistant, Rebecca.
Milton took his seat again, watching his colleagues interact.
'Good day, gentlemen, I hope I wasn't interrupting. Mr. Logan, you forgot to sign off on the Summer sponsorship programme?' She paused, soaking in her boss. 'You will be missed Sir. Especially by me.'
Milton chuckled.
'Oh shoot, how could I forget?'.
His quickly took the forms, signing without acknowledging her last comment.Milton observed how Rebecca was focused on David, bracing her busty bosom upward despite hhow revealing her low cut dress was. She wore stilettos with long clean shaven legs. Her poise was that of a feline, ready to frolick with the lion king. Her outfit cling to her body and every shape was visible, firm and alluring. The red spandex dress stopped short a few inches below her butt line.
How does David do it, Milton thought, shaking his head. Every man in the office wondered how all the females employed to Logan's Architecture and Construction came hunting the boss man as a game and he never took the bait. Never.
Beautiful, hot, young women. Many from low to high classe but his response was always the same, He is a Christian man waiting for his Ruth.
Rebecca left the office in disappointment. It was evident in her deportment and her face.
'Man you're either weird or gay. How can you not see Rebecca? You may never know if she's your Ruth?'
They both looked at each other and laughed, walking through the doors.
