Chapter 17

"GET OUT OF HERE YOU ROTTEN HEDGEHOG!!!!!!" Licht yelled as he kicked at Hyde. I smiled as I watched them from the couch. "Why do you only hit me, Angel-chan? Y/n is a vampire too" Hyde complained. Licht paused, giving Hyde time to run to the other side of the room, "Y/n is a girl. And my best friend. Even if she is a vampire, she's still the girl I've always known" he said, glancing over at me. "Licht...." I trailed off and he walked over to me. He hugged me tight, and I was happy knowing nothing had changed between us.

I heard something coming at us from the air. The sound of glass shattering was heard as I grabbed the knife inches from Licht's nose. I saw a look of fear in his eyes as he stared at it. I had grabbed it by the blade part, which had been pointed away from him. I looked at the window to see a small piece fall to the floor, then a knock was heard at the door. Somehow it fell from the hinges as it was knocked on. Sakuya was standing there with a confused look on his face, "Uuuhh, you might want to get the door fixed, Todoroki" he said. Licht looked like he wanted to say something, so I intervened, "Did you need something, Sakuya?" I asked, "Yeah. Tsubaki wants you to come back. He sent me to come get you" "Alright. I'll be back tomorrow, Licht. Stay out of trouble!" I said as I walked to the door.

We were walking to the hotel when I stopped walking. When Sakuya noticed I was no longer next to him, he turned to look at me. "Y/n? What's the matter?" he asked as I stood frozen. I backed away when the devil disguised as a man started walking my direction. He glanced at the man that was looking at me before he stepped in between us. "Please back away. I'll have to hurt you if you intend to hurt her in any way. Sir" Sakuya said. "Who the hell are you? Get out of my way!" the man yelled, causing me to flinch. "I told you. You need to back away" Sakuya said, his voice low as he pushed the man back, "Why you.... who do you think you are, talking to me like that!" the man yelled as an employee ran over. "Excuse me, I don't know what's wrong, but could we solve this peacefully and quietly?" the man in a suit asked. "My apologies. I'm with the Tsubaki party, and this man frightened my friend here" "The Tsubaki party? By all means, do as you wish. I'm sure this scuffle can be resolved easily" he said. "You're too kind. Let's get going, okay?" Sakuya said to me. He led me away with the fake friendly smile on his face until we reached the elevator.

Once the doors slid closed, I began to shake in fear and began to cry silently. "Y/n.... what was that back there?" Sakuya asked in a soft voice. I didn't do anything but shake in fear until we reached the living quarters. I sat down and tried to be strong about this. That didn't happen, because I utterly failed. I hugged myself as I cried. I looked to my left when I felt a warm hand on my shoulder, and I saw Tsubaki. "Y/n, what happened?" he asked sadly. I wiped away the tears as I looked up at him, "I saw him. I don't know how, but he knows I'm here. I... I don't know what to do now" I said. "I won't let him get anywhere near you. He's caused too much pain for you already. He'll die before that happens" Tsubaki said, anger in his voice.
