Fallen Angel

In Alex's final moments, she watches her own lifeless body, beaten and bleeding, being operated on. Panic.

The defibrillators sent a shock through her, making her body jump. Then fall back limp. She is riding away and she wants to cry.

She hates herself so much. For doing this. How could she be so selfish? And Maggie... she's not there. Alex doesn't deserve her after what she did to her.

Her body grows small and quickly fades away. But the brightness fades with it. She is in darkness now. The cold black surroundings make her feel small and alone. She sinks away and pulls her knees to her chest.

Then she hears a sudden noise. It's time. She thinks to herself. They are going to take me now, and I will join Kara in the presence of Rao.

The sad noise, she hears it clearer now. It's a whimper. A sob. She slowly stands with trembling legs, her knees knocking together. She starts toward the sound.

A light comes into view. It's blurry from afar, but she gets closer. There are bars, a cell of some sort. A body lies inside.

The body shakes and they're in the corner, on their hands and knees, crying. She takes another step, careful not to catch the prisoner's attention. She fails.

She stops breathing when the figure raised its head and slowly looked to her. She choked.

"Alex! You can't give up! Please, wake up!" The girl cries, her begging and raspy voice sends Alex back into the darkness.

In the DEO...

The machine hums back to life, the beep of Alex's heartbeat starts again after the third shock. A tear slips down J'onn's cheek and a smile breaks free.

She's alive.
