Alex continues to twist and squirm against the scratchy ropes that rub at her wrists and ankles, hoping to be able to pull free from them. But she does it discretely so the Cadmus guards won't notice. She wondered what Cadmus could possibly want with her. After all, they had already destroyed her family. They won. What other cynical and psychotic plans could they have for the Danvers family?

Or what's left of it, Alex thought.

"Hey!" One of the men roared as he spotted her gnawing at the restraints. She quickly halted and glared at him as he approached her and pulled a taser from his waist. Alex swallowed hard as the guard struck her in the stomach, burning jolts shocking her, and she groaned aloud while clenching her fists. The man snickered, his low and chilling laugh echoing, before pulling away and returning to his spot.

Alex panted, bearing her teeth together while holding down a whimper, refusing to show them any more weakness. With one last puff, she raises her head and eyes the ropes, seeing how they obviously haven't budged. She glances up at the guard before looking back down again. But instead of pulling and twisting she grabs the edge of the rope with her fingers and presses it against the corner of the arm of chair and begins to rub, causing friction. She keeps her head up, scraping the rope against the wood, and hopes she will be able to break herself free before the are able to pull through with whatever nefarious plans they have in mind.

....

Prisoner S, or assistance number 52, sits down in the chair Lena had lead her too. Lena noticed how the woman with slanted eyes, deep brown hair and dark amber skin, seemed to avoid meeting her gaze. Skittish around Lena, like she was the enemy, or someone worth staying away from.

"Before we start, what's your name?" The Luthor asked softly.

"Uh-Colette Smith." She stammered.

"Alright, Colette," Lena smiled, "We just have a few questions. A better understanding so we can give you the best chance at a normal life. One not on the run."

She nodded shyly and Lena continued. "Why did you leave us, me, clues instead of approaching us directly?"

Colette hesitated, heat rising to her cheeks."I-uh-didn't know who to trust." She finally made out.

"And then, the clues lead up to the House of El symbol. Why is that? After all, you aren't kryptonian or one of the Supers as far as I'm aware."

She looked away, fidgeting nervously, and Lena was mindful of her spikes of anxiety. "My powers...I guess you could say they resemble their's..." She trailed.

Lena nodded, her eyes catching a glare of light from the collar of Colette's hoodie, a small metal chip. She doesn't say anything about it and carries on, but is mindful to not forget it. "How did you know to find me at Zhang Sun's house?"

"She helped me," Colette says. "She never mentions in her blog or to you that for a couple weeks she let me stay at her house."

"Yes, I had the feeling she was leaving out bits and pieces." Lena put her hand to her chin, remembering Zhang Sun's description of the woman.

Short black hair, pale white skin...

She looked up at Colette and then at her colleague who stood distantly in the corner of the room. "Excuse me for one moment," She smiled and took him outside, into the hallway.

"Does anything about this seem...suspicious to you?" She asked, making sure to close the door.

"Yes, she does seem like she's lying." He said, scratching his head.
