Seeing Alex like this is so devestating.  Its as if she really did die in that car crash. Maggie is scared for her. For her mental health and sanity. But she is even more scared for when she wakes up.

Its honestly a never ending cycle. She seems okay for a while, then she spirals, and then she suddnely seems "fine" again. Maggie truly doesn't know what to beleive. She learned the hard way that even a smile can be so devilishly deceiving.

Winn decides to check on Maggie, who is staring pretty darn sad at her soulmate that Winn's heart would break too if he didn't say anything.

He walks up hesitantly, as if scared to approach her. But he does and sits next to her, his gaze landing right where hers leads. Alex. Maggie doesn't miss a beat as she sighs on cue and puts her head in her hands sadly.

There is a long thick silence where Maggie sits, crying into her palms, while Winn is there quietly comforting her. "What happened?"

She sniffles. "What do you mean?" Her voice is cracking and stuffy. Winn phyically slumps, suddenly down by the heartbreaking sound.

"Like...to your face." He replies awkwardly, still staring at Alex's unconcious body on the bed. All of the computers and devices around her with that constant beep and hum is driving Winn mad. Like a ringing in his ears. Like a constant reminder.

"Oh, nothing." She says quickly, simply waving it off weakly.

"She did it, didn't she?" His tone, so empty and god-awfully sad. Just how it's thick with truth tears her apart. He's right. And Maggie knows it, but she can not admit it.

Maggie stands, without a word, and leaves.

Winn is not surprised. How could she admit to that? That her love, that her one and only, finally snapped? Not to mention how devoid of love Alex's eyes were when she looked into them.  They were instead wild, vicious, and broken. But she gets a chill every time the image pops in her head. There was that, but also determination in her eyes. And she wants to hurl when she thinks of what comes next.

So, with that, he stays. His eyes fixed on Alex, his mind fixed on despair, and his heart broken on Kara. Don't even get me started on that. He knows he needs to get back to work, but he can't muster up the energy to stand. To move. To leave.

Maggie hurries home. She doesn't bother to stay in that hellhole of a department. Instead, she gets in her car and drives home.

And then she gets lost.

Where is home?

Nothing but one thought comes to mind.

Alex.

She turns around and heads straight back to the DEO.

Nothing can stop her on her quest to find deep in that broken little heart a little peice of Alex left.
