National City! You have all heard the rumors of a mysterious figure flying across the sky as reported a few times over the past two months, and we are asking you to look to the skies, take pictures, and see if you can gather any information about this mysterious alien. Some are saying it's Superman, some are saying it's another Kryptonian, and some are even daring to say it may be Supergirl. We all know the tragedy of two years ago, but it could be true! Is the Girl of Steel alive? And if so, what is she doing back after-

Kara shut off the radio. Over the past month she's returned, it hasn't been easy. Lena, Maggie, J'onn, Winn, and everyone else has been a little strange around her. Even Alex. They lock eyes for a moment, freeze up, and grow nervous as she passes. As if they had just seen a ghost.

She didn't even want to think about returning to the public as Supergirl.

Alex raised an eyebrow at Kara from the couch when she turns it off in a rush and rubs her face stressfully. She already knows what her sister is thinking about, but hesitates to say something. After all, she isn't sure what to say. She has thought of so many things she wished to tell her sister if she ever saw her again, but now that she's here, everything seems to have jammed up in her throat. Like her nearly infinite of words that had been bottled up had been clogged, no matter how badly she wished to spew it all up. Tell every little secret, lie, and confession all at once. But she couldn't do it. So, she stayed quiet, and instead joined Kara in the kitchen. "Need help?" Alex asked as she motioned her hand towards the bacon sizzling on the pan. "You know you can cook it with your eyes...right?" She asked with a smile and a giggle, referencing her heat vision.

"Yeah, I know, but it's been so long since I've had the luxury of a stove." Kara said with a forced smile. "And no it's okay, I don't need any help. Just distracted is all."

Alex looked at her knowing now is the time to speak up. "Wanna talk about it?" She asked gently. As if she's talking to a fragile child. Her carefulness around her, as if she might break at any moment, makes Kara uncomfortable. If anything she's grown to hate overtime is being vulnerable, and even worse than that, other people knowing she's vulnerable. It makes her wish Alex didn't care as much. Kara has been awfully distant since she's come home. She used to talk to her about everything. Now, she barely says where she wants to eat. And that is beyond unusual.

Kara shrugged. "It's nothing." She said quickly and before Alex could open her mouth the protest, Kara changed the subject. "Want to grab a plate? It's almost done."

Alex didn't say anything but nod and grabbed two plates, one for each of them, and two forks. Kara looked over to see this and said quickly, "Oh Alex, it's okay, I'm not eating. Just not hungry this morning, I guess. Besides, I only made enough for one." She shot Alex a smile just for good measures.

Alex would usually freak at this. Not hungry? Kara not hungry? But, again, she's been this way since she's been home. It's not like Kara would completely avoid eating, she'd eat a meal, sometimes two, a day but it was still weird. Especially since she was a Kryptonian and Kryptonians eat a lot. Or maybe Alex thought they did since Kara always did, but who knows.

Alex frowned and put a plate and fork back, leaving only a serving for her. "Kara, you have to eat something." She groaned and Kara didn't look up from the pan where the bacon strips sizzled deliciously. "I did." Kara lied. "I ate while you were asleep. I woke up early this morning, so..." Her voice trailed and Alex wasn't sure if she was telling the truth or not. Before, a crinkle would crease between her eyebrows when she lied. It was honestly adorable and now, it was gone, like she had mastered hiding her tell. Alex missed the little crease in her forehead.

But the truth was, Kara didn't wake up early that morning because she hasn't even fallen asleep yet. All night, once Alex had fallen asleep, Kara found herself high above the clouds, hovering for hours. It's been two years since she was able to fly freely, and she had almost forgotten the unforgettable feeling that came from the sky. It was peaceful. Calm. And quiet. The endless sky was an escape from everything. She could lie with the clouds for days and not get tired of it. And she had countless days to make up for.
