*Vision*
"Grandma, what will we do now that mommy and daddy are gone" Camilla cried.
"Camilla my sweet, I will look after you and your sisters. You will see your parents again, one day."
"I miss them so much." Says Laura as her eyes become teary again.
"Laura darling, don't feel bad because they died. Feel happy because they lived! Wouldn't you rather remember the good memories you made with them. " Gran said softly.
Laura thought about the question for a moment and shortly responded in a faint voice "Yes. I think I would."
"I love you Grandma" Says Adriana, gratefully
"And I love you, my 3 little angels." Gran said as she smiled at the girls.
*10 years later*
The clouds were dark and dim in the early morning. The church bells chimed, signalling that the funeral was about to commence. People in black clothing started filling up the pews, like a frightful storm beginning to take place over a sunny sky.
Adriana stands at the altar with a paper in her unsteady hand.
"Death changes everything. Time changes nothing. I still miss the sound of your voice, the wisdom in your advice, the stories of your incredible life and just being in your presence. So no, time changes nothing, I miss you as much as I did the day you died. I will forever miss you."
Adriana quickly catches her tears before they hit the ground. When she looks up at her sisters for support, she realised they are nowhere in sight.
Suddenly, the large, wooden back doors of the church slams open. Laura and Camilla emerge into the church with striking outfits and wild makeup. Adriana looked mortified as she saw them walk up the aisle. She could hardly recognise them. When they finally stood at the podium, Camilla pushed Adriana to the side and grabbed hold of the microphone.
"Well, she's gone. And i'm pretty sure she won't be back." Says Camilla confidently.
"Gran. You're gone and it's sad, but life goes on." Laura adds in, unbothered.
Camilla and Laura throw their papers to the ground and exit the church, ignoring all the shocked expressions from onlookers. Adriana worriedly glances around the church and then chases after them.
Outside the church, Adriana angrily approaches Laura and Camilla.
"What is your problem. What happened to you?" Adriana says, concerned.
"What happened? She was all we had left Adriana. Who will we go to now? She said she would always take care of us, and now she's gone." Laura answered.
Adriana stayed quiet as she thought about what Laura had said. And the more she thought about it, the more she realised that Laura was right. They had no one left.
*2 years after the funeral*
"So, what are we doing tonight? Robbing banks, starting fires, stealing cars?!" Asked Adriana eagerly.
"Clearly, you haven't listened to anything i've said this past hour." Answered Laura.
"We are setting a fire in the forest." Said Camilla.
"That's right. Someone has been paying attention." Laura smiled.
"Okay, Laura. Is the gun loaded?" Camilla asked.
"Loaded, and ready to be shot at someones head." She answered. The girls laughed and ran off into the night.
