Camilla is sitting near a bush, humming a soft tune and playing with a lighter. She thinks about where Laura and Adriana might be and decides that it's best for her to just give up. As she is about to start the fire she is approached by someone.
"Hey, stop. Put the lighter down." Says Nathan, softly. He stands above her, with her back facing him.
"Why? Why should I do what you say?" She exclaims.
"Who are you? Take off the mask, and face me." He says, ignoring her previous question.
"Why? Why can't I just die. It's better for me anyway, I don't have to suffer this pain." She says.
"Who are you? Please answer me." He begs. Camilla is reluctant to answer him. Because she knows exactly who he is. She recognises his soft brown eyes against the pale moonlight.
Taking a deep breath, she says to him; "I'm the girl who you never noticed. I'm the one who was never good enough for you. At school, you walked past me and ignored my presence. I prayed for you to acknowledge me. I even thought that I loved you. But now looking back, I realise that I didn't love you. Because how can you love someone that doesn't even know your name?" She took a deep breathe and moved one step closer to him, taking off her mask. "That is who I am."
Nathan froze. He stared at her face in disbelief. He recognised her face. The girl who's parents died. It was the biggest news this town had ever faced. He remembered hearing about the car accident on the local news. This girl was kind and innocent. But that has clearly changed. He put his hand on her cheek, and slowly leans to kiss the broken girl. It started to rain on them, but they continued to share a warm and passionate embrace.
