You had just gotten home from a long day of work.
You take off your shoes and coat and leave them at the door. You started to wonder where Calum was usually he met you at the door as soon as you got home.
"Calum?" you yell through the house.
You don't get an answer so you shrug it off he must have went over to one of the boys house or to the store.
You make your way upstairs to your room but stop outside the door when you here small whimpers from the other side.
You open the door slightly to see Calum curled up in a ball crying on your shared bed.
You hurry to his to see what's wrong.
"My mom called me today" he got out before he started sobbing again. You gently rubbed his back waiting patiently for Calum to finish. It took everything for you not to start bawling you hated seeing him like this.
He calmed down just a bit and continued "My Nan's in the hospital and it does look like she's going to make it." He broke down in tears again.
You were shocked because of how healthy she was just a month ago but quickly recovered to help Calum.
"Hey hey shhhh." you sooth
You continue rubbing his back "Calum its going to be okay. You have to see it this way if she gets better that's great and I'm sure she will but if something were to go wrong she'd be in a better place."
He sat up after a little while and it was harder for you not to cry to see his tear stained cheeks. He pulled you close into a tight hug and said, "Thank you so much Emmy. I love you."
"I love you too Calum. C'mon let's go to sleep yeah?"
He nodded and laid down pulling you close to him. Both of you falling asleep with in minutes in each others arms.
