"Alright everybody! Now that that rat is gone, we can do something fun!" Ryan cheered as he and Tina returned to the room with all the kids. "We should all play a game together and-Hey wait... UNICORN!!! GOLDY!!! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?!"
"Coming Ryan!" Unicorn Mann yelled, running up the stairs with Goldy.
"Hey dude! What's up?" Goldy asked as the two reached the top of the stairs.
"Well I was thinking we could play a game with the Daycare kids." Ryan suggested. "Preferably something inside the Daycare." He added.
"Cool! Sounds fun!" Goldy agreed.
"Sure, but what will we all play?" Unicorn asked.
"Oh! Oh! I know! Pick me!" Tina said, jumping up and down and waving her hands around like crazy.
"What do you think we should do, Tina?" Ryan asked, internally laughing at her enthusiasm.
"We should play hide and seek!" She suggested.
"In the dark!" Unicorn added.
"Yeah!" Tina agreed.
"Uhhh... I dunno guys, maybe just normal hide and seek?" Goldy said nervously.
"Oh come on, Goldy, what are you, chicken?" Tina taunted.
"Uhhh I don't think so. I thought that was Sabre's brand." Goldy said, examining herself.
"She means are you scared." Ryan said, rolling his eyes.
"Nu-no! Of course not! I was just thinking maybe Kat is?" She whimpered the last two words.
"Uhh... Kat can see in the dark, so she isn't scared of it..." Tina said it like this was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Oh uhhh." Goldy stuttered. "I guess okay then?" She said, not wanting to give away her secret fear.
"Awesome. Not it!" Tina shouted.
"Not it!" Ryan shouted.
"Not it." Unicorn said calmly.
"Not it!" The Daycare kids shouted.
"Wha? Not it?" Goldy said after everyone else.
"Looks like your it, Goldy! Count to 25!" Tina taunted, handing her a flashlight. Ryan turned out the lights and everyone hid.
"3... 4... 5..." Goldy was counting. Tina had a plan. She hid around the corner inside the Portal room. The plan was to scare her.
"15... 16... 17..." Ryan his upstair in Sabre's room. No one would expect him there.
"20... 21... 23..." Unicorn was hidden under the stairs that lead up to the roof.
"24... 25! Ready or not, I'm coming!" Goldy turned on her flashlight. Its rays of hope made her feel safe. She immediately thought to look upstairs. She went by room by room to find the kids. She found Danny and Dave in Tony's room, Derp in his secret area, and Lizzie reading a book in her room with a strange bookmark light thing. All four kids headed downstairs to wait for Goldy to find the others. Goldy didn't think to check Sabre's room or the stairs. She next went downstairs and checked the art gallery. In there she found Tony and Kat. She was starting to feel more confident in the dark, so she headed towards the portal room. As she approached it, Tina popped out and screamed.
Goldy cried out in fear, threw her flashlight at Tina and ran away.
Tina watched her run away and realized the rest of her friends were going to stay hidden until Goldy found them, so she should probably go calm her down.
Tina followed Goldy into Unicorn Mann's basement. Goldy sat down on the couch and started rocking herself back and fourth.
"Goldy?" Tina asked. She had seen Goldy scared before, but never like this. She sat next to Goldy on the couch.
"G-Go away! I'm fine." She whimpered.
"Goldy, what's wrong? It was just a prank you know, like you did with that puppy, and you did with those balloons, and you did with those handcuffs, and you did with-"
"Tina. I get it. I prank A LOT. Please leave now. Go tell everyone I give up." Goldy sniffled.
"Goldy, my point is, you get scared but not like this. What's up?" Tina asked, shifting in her seat. "You wouldn't have been scared of that during Halloween."
Goldy turned to look at Tina. "You want to know?" She asked. Tina nodded in encouragement. "Fine." She sighed. "November 1st. The day after Halloween. Someone broke into my house in the night. I woke up to loud noise. When I opened my eyes, a man in all black was stealing stuff in my room. He had a gun. I screamed, I didn't know what to do." Goldy squeezed her arms a bit. "My dad came running and saw the man. The two fought, and the man shot my dad in the arm... right here." She put her hand on her left arm, 4 inches down from her shoulder. "The man ran when he heard police sirens. My dad was taken to the hospital, and I had to stay with my Nana for a week." Goldy explained.
Tina sat there, shocked. "Goldy! Why didn't you tell us?!" Tina demanded.
"I was scared... of what you would think, of how I would be treated. Ever since then I haven't been able to be in the dark by myself, and if someone tries to scare me... my mind always thinks it's the man." Goldy explained. "I know it's stupid..."
Tina gave Goldy a side hug. "Goldy that isn't stupid. Someone came into your house, stole your possessions, and and shot your dad, all in the middle of the night when it was dark. That is the least lame reason to be sacred of the dark that I've ever heard." Tina comforted. "In the future, just speak up if you are scared."
"I- I didn't want to be ridiculed..." Goldy rebutdtaled.
"Goldy, this morning, Ryan was scared of a rat. We won't make fun of you, we all have our own fears."
"Oh?" Goldy said, making a face at the tiger girl. "What is your fear?" She taunted.
"Goldy I would love to stay and chat but you need to find the others before they give up."
"Fine." Goldy consented. The two girls walked back up the stairs when then noticed everyone was sitting on the couch. "Hey wait! What are you guys doing?!" Goldy asked, seeing the others she hadn't found were sitting in the couch too.
"We got tired of waiting." Ryan explained, "So we came back to wait for you."
"Sorry." Goldy said.
"Don't worry about it." Unicorn Mann assured her. "Tina clearly kept you busy." He chuckled.
"I made her chase me for me to come back." Tina said with a wink. Man that girl was smooth with lies. "I hid in an obvious spot so I decided she had to chase me to get me." She laughed.
"It took forever." Goldy complained, trying to add to the lie. Everyone laughed, and Goldy felt better, even if it was still dark, her friends were there so she felt safe.
1090 Words ladies and gentlemen! There we go, a longer chapter for once! So story time real quick. The other day I was telling a friend about my little one shots and so I went to read some for her... Well it turns out that even though I'm perfectly fine writing out people kissing, I'm not so good at reading it out loud. Haha. It just made me feel very uncomfortable for some reason. By the way thanks to all the comments on my stories. I try to respond to them because I like to, unless I don't know what to say. Sometimes that happens and I just am like "oh.. uhh what?" Anyways! Have a great day guys! Bye!!!!
