Chapter Six: Aunt Mary

For the remainder of my rather fun summer, I spent my time in London with my aunt Mary. I usually would go spend some time with her every summer and I loved being with her. She was always one to understand me and in a way I always looked up to her as a mother figure. Because I don't know who my mother is. I have never called anyone mom a day in my life.

But I'm ok with it. I still have two parents who love me, I'm sure. What I loved the most about staying with Mary, is that I feel normal. I live in an average size house for my time of being here. Where I live throughout the school year, everyone knows who I am and I sometimes get picked on for my family. Only a small town population knows who I am. I can't imagine if the whole world knew. But here nobody knows. Which I'm very satisfied with.

Aunt Mary walked into my room with two envelopes in her hand. She was never one to use phones so I gave the people I care about the address to her house. "You have mail." She informed and handed me both envelopes.  I scan both of them to see one from Britney and the other from Asher. I blushed as soon as I saw the one from Asher. Mary took a seat on my bed with a smirk on her face. "What?" I laughed.

"Whose Asher?" She interrogated raising an eyebrow. I rolled my eyes and opened the letter that Britney sent me. "Tell me!" Mary yelled playfully. "No." I said smirking. "You know that you can tell me anything, I won't tell your dad or anyone." She continued. She's right. Besides Britney, she was one of the only people I trusted. "Ok fine, Asher is my boyfriend." I admitted. "OOOOOOOOOOO TIFF TELL ME ALL ABOUT HIM!" She squealed. I blushed just by the thought of him. "Well he's very handsome. American, a little bit more than I am. Intelligent and very understanding, I can talk to him about anything." I explained. Mary smiled. "Well he seems like a very good guy." She said.

"He is, he's amazing to me. But dad doesn't like him." I said. Mary laughed. "Your dad doesn't like anybody, so don't take it personally." She said. I guess she's right. I felt heartbroken and sad as soon as I read a single sentence in Britney's letter. "No!" I yelled out not even being able to think clearly. "What's wrong?" Mary questioned concerned. I wanted to cry but I'm not going to. I have always been known to have a very strong exterior. "Britney is moving all the way to the east coast." I said. Mary hugged me immediately.

She thought I was going to cry and I couldn't help but to have tears fall to my eyes. "She's the only real friend I have." I said. "It's going to be ok. You'll keep in touch and make new friends, I know it." She tried to comfort me. I wiped away the tears. "I can already tell that this school year is going to be shit." Were the only words to come out of my mouth.
