AN: Sorry its been a while! Gypsy's POV today!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally finally finally finally! She finally showed up! I was about to go mad If she didn't soon! She did a good job of hiding her excitement when she arrived at the door. She went up to her room to make a bed for her in her room. She did a little victory dance and giggled to herself as she spun in her room, she'd been right! And through all the doubt from her family gave her, she was right! Oh, how good it felt. It would be like having another sister, or a really good friend that never left. She wanted her as comfortable as possible since she did look a little nervous when she arrived.
                    ~~~

She warmed up a little over the next day with Samson, she was a little jealous of how close they got. She saw how close they seemed in flashes of the future...but when did it happen? I mean to be fair we didn't talk all that much and the only thing she knew they had in common was their love of music. She needed an excuse to get close to her, spend time with her... but then again what if she doesn't want to be my friend? Or maybe she'd be too focused on her savvy to spend time with her.

"She's been freaking out about her savvy all day. I did everything I could to try and distract her." Samson said shaking his head. She did seem on edge, eyes flicking around, drumming her fingers. She frowned, she needed to do something, she needed to be happy here. She saw her happy in the future and those moments are coming up soon, so why is she not yet?

I came to sit down in the living room. We were waiting for momma to finish making dinner.

"Okay, so...... we got presents." Mavis groaned, she had told us not to but I insisted. She didn't have anything else. "The cake is cooling for me to frost it. And..... I think that's everything we need....." Momma finished. I smiled, good. Everything we need for a good birthday.

"Need for what? I don't understand what the big deal is. It's just a birthday." Mavis said as if it was the stupidest thing in the world. Samson mumbled something I didn't understand, but Mavis did and she went scarlet. "What?" She said nervously.

"I-I-I mean- like- you kn-know. It's true though. I-I-" He was just as scarlet as Mavis. He looked at me for help, and I had to admit Mavis being this shaken wasn't good. Whatever he said rattled her, she needed to fix it.

I slammed my hands on the table and yelled loud enough for Tucker to hear me from the other room, "What do you mean you've never had chicken nuggets!" I felt a smile tug at my lips, by the look on her face she had forgotten what Samson said, not to mention she was laughing. And to my predicted outcome, Tucker ran in outraged and yelled,

"You haven't  had chicken nuggets!?!" I burst out laughing along with them, enjoying how Mavis doubled over laughing and holding her stomach.

                    ~~~
During dinner, they talked but she seemed far off. She hated it. Not that she wasn't talking, it was that she was like this because she was scared.
"Mavis, are you okay?" I asked when we started to eat but she just sat there staring at her food.
"Hm? Oh, yeah." She answered quietly, not taking her eyes of her plate. I frowned, what happened to the bubbly smiling Mavis she saw earlier? She watched her take small bites, and the hesitation in her words when she answered questions.
"I'm sure you'll get a great savvy!" Tucker said at one point. She and Samson were the only ones to notice her flinch at the word savvy.
                    ~~~

After we assumed her savvy was being able to 'fix and break things' she left the house to sit outside. I almost had a heart attack when she rushed out, thinking that she would leave for good. Only then to see her stop in the field and sit down.

"Do you think she'll be okay?" Samson said sitting by me on the steps of the back porch to watch her.

"Yeah, she will be. We just have to be there for her you know." I said softly, more to reassure myself more than him. I was worried about her, she cared a lot about us even though we just met the other day, she was worried that she would choose to hurt herself other than us. "Do you think that she'll learn to control her savvy faster if she knows she can hurt us with it?" I said sort of as a joke but wanting an actual answer.

Samson huffed a laugh, "Probably. By the way thanks for changing the subject earlier, I meant what I said but didn't expect her to hear me." He said nervously scratching his neck with his face blushed.

"No problem, we needed a good laugh. But what did you say?"

"Oh um, I said 'Just a birthday huh? It's not a celebration of you getting an amazing ability that will match your personality.'"

"Oh," I chuckled "that's so true. But I can see why it was awkward." He blushed again. "Anyway, we should head to bed. I'll get her." I said jerking my head in Mavis's direction. He nodded and stood up turning towards the door.

"Oh, and Gypsy..." I turned to him a small smile on his face, "She's just....Let's not lose her."I smiled at him silently agreeing, he was right, losing her would be bad even if they weren't close enough to her yet to know what it's like to have her.  "In your visions....you said...-"

"It'll happen soon enough." He pursed his lips and nodded walking away.

  ~~~
After she showered and fell exhaustedly into a restless sleep, Mavis's face that was contorted with focus, strain, and worries, relaxed and turned soft. It was mesmerizing to watch the way her chest rising and falling rhythmically. Her pale skin shining from the moonlight and a gentle blush on her nose and cheeks. Finally able to forget that she had to keep herself under control, and just breath. It was almost like meditating. She smiled to herself. "Goodnight, Mavis."
